This restaurant was recommended to us by vacationers who stay here every year for 3 months. It was a great recommendation. The fish fillet. Vera Cruz is wonderful with fresh vegetables and rice. Second entrée was the grilled pork chop and my husband loved it with the grilled onions.. Third entrée was the Poc-Chuc. They came with a small salad. It is a breaded pork chop and was devoured.. we also had a large side of steamed vegetables.we started dinner with the guacamole and pico de gallo. All delicious. The service was perfect and so helpful! The only dessert was fried ice cream. I was so full from dinner I could barely eat two bites since dinner was a lot of food, but it also disappeared quickly.. We are thinking of coming back and having a fried ice cream for lunch.😄 all of this with one of us having a beer and all of us having bottled water and including tip was 900 pesos or $54 for the three of us. The food: Delicious, simply delicious that's one of the best Fish-Ceviches I've had 🐟 also the fruit eater was very very refreshing, inhad the watermelon 🍉 one and it was enough and not excessive sweet, which I always appreciate

The Crew: As attentive as you could expect them to be, very patient as we took a while to read the menus and also provided good recommendations from their special dishes.

Atmosphere: It is good, even when it's location is a bit hidden and not on a very touristic street, the ambience inside is good enough to enjoy a nice meal.

For decades this truly locals place has been a "go to" staple for those in the know who want to leave the tourist zone behind and experience an old style traditional Cozumel island. You won't see a bunch of contemporary eye catching decor here but instead tables and chairs made with love by local carpenters back in the day when that's all you could get here on the island other than plastic chairs from the beer company.
