Yaama Bar & Grill — Restaurant in San Miguel de Cozumel

If I could give zero stars I would! Complete scam artists. We had to catch a flight home, stopped for lunch on our way out. Ordered lobster, crab and redfish plate, nachos, 2 beers and a pina colada. We were initally told $80 for the seafood plate. Took over an hour to get our food and we only got the lobster and crab. When asked about redfish they tried to play dumb and say we didn’t order it, when they advertised it that way bringing out the platter of “fresh catch of the day platter” to sell us. He tried to say he would go make the fish, we said no we didn’t have time, we had to go since it had already taken an hour to get our food. So he brought the price down to $50. That was fair enough we thought, but when we went to pay the bill and he did the conversion to usd he thought we were dumb and wouldn’t catch it. Tried charging us $280 for everything. We had to argue for a good 10 minutes but had a plane to catch. Complete scammers, I hate to know how many other people they screwed and probably didn’t even know. We did not pay $280, we got it down to $120 but we didn’t even have $120 worth of food.

Stopped in for lunch with the kids after a great snorkling trip. Should have trusted my gut but had 2 hungry kids so we sat down to burgers. We were the only people in the restaurant and it took an hour for 3/4 burgers we had ordered to come. These didn’t arrive until 30 mins after the fries, which were soggy and not hot at best. We assumed they’d forgotten the 4th burger (which we were thankful for because they were so salty they were practically inedible. The cheese was not melted and the meat was burned.) However as husband was complaining about the food his burger arrived. We got refunded for this burger but still played an excessive amount of money for terrible food.
