This place is a hidden gem. We were lucky to find it on our second day as we browsed the shop in the complex. At the rear is a substantial, beautiful shaded garden in the heart of the medina. The restaurant is part of a local women's co-operative initiative. The chef is female and makes the most amazing food, very authentic. We have eaten here on a number of occasions and tried the chicken, beef and berber vegetarian tagines, and they are absolutely delicious, as were the beef and chicken burgers on a separate occasion , and vegetarian tacos. The fries were delicious, and we requested some extra spice and were served a gorgeous harissa sauce that tasted similar to mango pickle. We also ate at two other local restaurants on the terraces and a place near the main square. They were not a patch on this place. So it has become our regular go-to during our week here because we know we will feel totally sated and content which we didn't when eating at the other places. Also forgot to mention that portions are generous and price very reasonable. Our mains included 2 drinks, a bottle of water, extra bread , ice cream, and came to around 200 MAD. The moment you walk in, you step into a calm, green oasis filled with plants and natural shade. The atmosphere is very relaxing and feels like a little escape from the noise outside.
The food and drinks are great as well. The espresso tastes really good, and the desserts and ice cream are worth trying too. Everything is prepared with care, and the setting makes the whole experience even better.
One thing that makes this place even more special is the small womenâs market inside. Local women sell handmade items there â from traditional crafts to unique pieces you wonât find anywhere else. Itâs a beautiful way to support local creativity and the work of Moroccan women.
Overall, itâs a lovely spot to relax, enjoy good food, and discover something meaningful at the same time. Definitely a place you...
Read moreThis restaurant is an oasis of tranquility at the end of an alleyway off a busy and bustling, narrow street. Set mainly outdoors in a spacious square and with high-end clothes and craft shops as neighbours, this restaurant is something of a haven.
I was seated immediately, the food was excellent and really good value. I was served very quickly by friendly and attentive wait staff and even the cleaning and gardening staff greeted me as they were passing my table.
So, in terms of food quality and value, fast service, wonderfully attentive staff and a great setting that offers an escape from the hullabaloo of the sook, I am absolutely delighted to recommend this gem of a restaurant and would be more than happy to host...
