Food wise the worst experience we have had in Marroco. How bad does a restaurant have to be to get exactly one star? Because I am tempted. The food while not overly expensive is almost inedible.
There were three of us and to be honest we were a little apprehensive from the beginning. All Marrakech related blogs warn not to dine in the center of the Medina and this restaurant definitely falls into that category. We ordered beef tangia (a speciality of Marrakesh?), chicken tagine, deep-fried cheese pockets and a Chorba (which, if one trusts the internet ought to be a rich middle Eastern soup). The pockets are hard to mess up so no comment here, but...: the soup was seemingly a mix of leftover sauces from the previous day's dishes adorned with a few veggies, the chicken... was bland... in Marroco to get a boiled poultry as a meal... wow. the beef tangia (which is a traditional dish from this exact city!!!)... since when fat and bones count as a meal? 60% inedible and on top of that the seasoning was horrible (mind you that we have been in Marroco for 10 days by this point basically jumping from one eatery to another) and I am not talking about the taste exactly but about the unidentified powder sprinkled all over the meal (3 year old, slightly moldy mix of herbs from a packet?)
Seeing how great the food is in Marroco, serving this is an atrocity. I hate to be conned and this restaurant does exactly that.
So I highly recommend NOT eating in this establishment, cause the terraces in Marrakech are plenty, but here your wallet will cry while your belly will...
Read moreVery disappointing experience. We have been approached on the street and only decided to go because we saw on their menu the pastilla au lait which we had in Fes and absolutely loved there. But after being seated, we waited so long for our order to be taken and for the food to be served. The starters were average. The chicken skewers were ok. But what a letdown the pastila au lait was. A little bit of cream(which did not taste good at all, and looked as if it was some shop bought sauce), the pastry was very oily and overcooked.. I wish we chose a different restaurant. It was also more expensive than most of our meals in Marrakesh and...
Read moreNot great service, others were offered bread and olives as appetisers but we were missed. The meat options were great however the vegetarian cous cous was very dry with little flavour and over boiled vegetables. Really disappointing as the reviews appear so good. In comparison to other places it is low on our list and we will not be recommending. Ended up leaving and going down the street for alternative food as those in our group with the vegetarian options were left disappointed and unable to finish the food from this place. Will not...
