Read moreI went to Amboo Momo, Thamel outlet with my mom. We ordered chicken and pork momo. The momo paired with the achar were tasty. However, I couldn't really differentiate between pork momo and chicken momo because they tasted so similar. In terms of service, it took a comparatively longer time for our order to arrive. Momo joints such as Shandaar, Everest, Narayan dai have comparatively shorter serving time. I also had no problem with self-service. However, the action that made us disappointed was that they were veryyy stingy with the achar. After I finished my momo, I was just trying out the achar by itself (2-3 of their plastic spoons at max). Suddenly, one of their staffs came and took away the tray or achars in front of me. At first we thought they took the jars to refill the aachar but the jars were pretty much full. And there was one customer other than us, so the achars weren't taken to serve the other customer because she already had the tray of achar in front of them. I mean we have paid good enough amount for the food, so can't we even get enough aachar?? It was very disappointing that they took it away while I was still eating. Also why isn't there any spoon? The plastic fork are very hard to grip the momo and also bad for the environment. I appreciate the 'botas' used to serve the momo, however, if you guys are planning to be plastic-free then please exclude the plastic forks. The prices you charge with self-service seems expensive if you can't even provide good forks/spoons for your customers. The Amboo momo in Jhamsikhel area also had slow serving time, however, they weren't stingy...
Read moreMe and my brother went to Aambo Momo after finding out about it thought Instagram. Our expectations were high and we was longing for the taste of that authentic Darjeeling momo. It was relatively easy to find the place. I logged on to goggle maps and followed my way. We parked our bike right outside the shop. The smell of momos surrounding the streets. Our mouths watered as we climbed up the stairs to the restaurant. It was smaller than i expected it to be but was really well put. The staff were friendly and we placed our order for two pork moms and aloo dam. As we waitied for our food we checked out their asorments of achars for the momo. My favorite was the peanut achar but the dalle achar and the timur achar were good too. We waited for about 10 mins and then our food arrived. Steamy pork momos and beautiful looking aloo dams served in a leaf bota. One bite into that momo and it took me right back to my childhood, nostalgic about the time we used to have 4 pieces of momo for INR. 5/- in a similar leaf bota. The aloo dams were good too, but i just hoped they also served the curry aloo dams too. In conclusion, Aambo momo captured my heart and whenever I have a craving for delicious Darjeeling momos i will be...
