I’ve been staying here a few times between me different treks, projects or trips. The staff is extremely welcoming, always answering my questions and giving me tips. I’ve also felt very safe there. It is a real pleasure to stay in such a clean and peaceful place in the middle of this hectic city. The atmosphere is cosy, the garden and terrace are we’ll-maintained! The hostel also have the cleanest restrooms and hot showers in Nepal. I also enjoyed having a locker, the laundry service and being able to leave my stuff in a room while hiking. A place that is difficult to leave ;)

It was a really bad experience. I stayed in this hostel for more than a week. At first, I had a lot of red rashes on my body. I thought it was mosquito bites, but in the next few days, I had urticaria all over my body. I had to go to the hospital for treatment, which cost 25,000rs. Then one night, I was bitten and woke up. I found that the bed was crawling with bedbugs. After squeezing the bedbugs to death, there was a lot of blood. I found the hostel manager, but they only knew how to shirk responsibility and said it had nothing to do with them.

My stay at Kwabahal Boutique Hostel was simply amazing! The location is perfect — tucked inside a peaceful area of Thamel, yet close to everything. The staff were extremely friendly, polite, and always ready to help with a smile. The rooms were spotless, cozy, and beautifully designed with a blend of modern comfort and traditional Nepali touch. The rooftop café was a highlight — a relaxing space to enjoy morning coffee with a lovely city view. I also appreciated the cleanliness, strong Wi-Fi, and attention to detail throughout the property. I stayed 5 nights in a 4-bed dorm with AC at Kwabahal Boutique Hostel and had a great experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and cool – perfect after long days exploring Kathmandu.

What really makes this hostel stand out is the staff. Everyone is welcoming, attentive, and genuinely cares about the guests. From the reception to the restaurant, the team always had a smile and went out of their way to make me feel at home.

The attached restaurant is also excellent – good food, cozy atmosphere, and very convenient when you don’t feel like going out.

Brand new place to stay, I highly recommend to pick this one while in Kathmandu. Rooms, bathrooms and common space are clean a cozy. Hostel is hidden from rush of Thamel and offers a small garden where you can rest. Kitchen is great and offers traditional cuisine as well as western, guys who run the kitchen are friendly and kind. Asis is a great server who will never lets you wait for your meal. Their colleague Anmuna is a great barista and makes great coffee of all kinds.
