Nestled in the heart of pokhara, the Nepali Athletic Food restaurant offers a remarkable dining experience that combines the vibrant flavors of Nepal with a focus on nutrition and energy. As an athlete and a lover of Nepali cuisine, I was thrilled to discover this hidden gem, and it exceeded my expectations in every way.
From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was captivated by its warm and inviting ambiance. The décor beautifully reflects the rich cultural heritage of Nepal, creating a cozy and authentic atmosphere. The staff greeted me with genuine smiles and a friendly demeanor, making me feel right at home.
The menu at Nepali Athletic Food is an absolute delight for anyone seeking a healthy and nourishing dining experience. It offers a wide range of dishes that cater to different dietary preferences, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Each dish is thoughtfully crafted to provide a balanced combination of proteins, carbohydrates, and essential nutrients to fuel the body.
One of the highlights of my visit was the Himalayan Power Bowl. Packed with quinoa, lean protein, fresh vegetables, and aromatic spices, it was a true powerhouse of flavors. The taste was simply divine, and I could feel the burst of energy with each bite. It was evident that the ingredients used were of the highest quality, and the chef's expertise in blending them together was truly commendable.
The Momo Platter is another must-try dish at this restaurant. The momos, a traditional Nepali delicacy, were perfectly steamed and filled with a flavorful mix of vegetables and spices. The accompanying dipping sauces added an extra layer of complexity to the dish, making it an absolute treat for the taste buds.
To complement the meal, the restaurant offers a selection of refreshing drinks and smoothies. I opted for the Himalayan Energy Booster, a blend of local fruits and herbs that provided a refreshing burst of vitality. It was the perfect way to recharge after a long day of physical activity.
The service at Nepali Athletic Food was top-notch. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about the cuisine they served. They were more than happy to answer my questions and provide recommendations based on my dietary needs.
In conclusion, Nepali Athletic Food is a culinary gem that seamlessly combines the authentic flavors of Nepal with a focus on athletic nutrition. The restaurant's dedication to providing healthy and delicious meals is truly commendable. Whether you're an athlete, a health-conscious individual, or simply a lover of Nepali cuisine, this place is a must-visit. I can't wait to return and explore more of their...
Read moreWent there twice and I'm not convinced. I Tried: 1) sausage (was special compared to other nepali dishes, but compared to other blood sausages I had, not immensely good), 2) Keema noodles (solid, particularly the black soy sauce was very good), 3) tibetian platter (considering it's the restaurant's signature dish, all 4 dishes were very, VERY bland in taste. Particularly if you have tried tibetian food elsewhere, you might be disappointed). Service is a mixed bag: both times I went, one of the guys is super friendly and professional, and the other is a bit 'confused' (?). Second time I went there I waited an hour for my food as for some reason the chef was simply gone for a while (he was still there when I placed the order, so no idea why and where he left to for half an hour). Tl;Dr: it's OK cuisine with friendly but sometimes slow service. If you want to have an intro to tibetian food, they might be the only ones serving mixed platters but don't get too excited about the taste as there are better options out there. Also, it's a bit pricey compared to other restaurants. I wish them all the best though, as I like the concept itself. And - generally I wouldn't trust a restaurant that names itself 'best...
Read moreService was really good. I don’t understand why some people say the staff are rude or the manager has an ego. During my visit, the staff were polite and helpful. They treated everyone equally, whether Nepali or foreigner.
Food-wise, not everything might be great, but what I had was definitely good.
Mix Laphing: Nicely prepared with good fillings. The taste was slightly different in a good way compared to other places in Pokhara.
Chicken Keema Noodles: Decent taste, nothing unique but exactly how it should be.
T Momo: Just steamed flour without any fillings. The name might be misleading, but the staff did inform me beforehand. I tried it out of curiosity, so no complaints but I’d say skip it if you don’t want to spend on something plain.
Ambience is nice on the second floor. I sat on the third floor, which was okay but a bit hot. They could improve the seating and make the experience more consistent across all floors.
Final verdict: I’d recommend this place. It is a bit pricey for what it offers, but the location justifies it. Food tastes good, and I gave a 3 star rating based on the food to...
