The owner/ manager of the establishment was an absolute a-hole to us, and physically shoved my friend indicating that he wants us to leave the restaurant, only because we said we needed a few more minutes to order.
My friends and I were on a 10-day trip to Nepal, and we visited Frituur No. 1 on the night of April 29. We planned on grabbing burgers for dinner and then returning to our hotel as one of our friends had a fever and we did not want to party on that night.
I was in a pharmacy on the same road as Frituur No. 1 buying a thermometer, and asked my friends to go ahead and start looking at the menu. It took me 5 minutes at most to buy the thermometer and walk over to Frituur No. 1 (only a few buildings away). My friends and I deliberated on the menu for 4/5 minutes minutes, and reassured the owner/ manager that we were definitely ordering.
Mind you, this was still before 11PM, which is the closing time listed for the place on TripAdvisor. There were probably no other customers inside (I do not specifically recall this detail, so I added the 'probably')
We sat down on the wooden bench-like seats and were contemplating on the menu, while one guy (my friend) was talking on the phone with the friend with the fever who was back at the hotel and wanted us to bring her some food back.
The owner walked over again and asked if we had decided yet. We politely told him that we needed just 5 more minutes. That is when he started asking us to leave and rudely pushed my friend's shoulder to get him up from his seat. My friend was surprised, as were we. My friend asked the guy to come down, but he kept physically walking us out of the store and shouting.
In case the owner/ manager needed to close early (again, we had arrived ahead of the online listed closing time), he could have politely told us that the time for ordering was over and that he was closing up. He had absolutely no right to get physically aggressive and behave the way he did. It was horrible customer service to say the least.
I had looked the place on TripAdvisor before the trip and saw that they had good ratings. But honestly, there are plenty of places, both in Nepal and out there in the world, that make good burgers. An above average burger is not worth it if the customer service and general experience is so subpar. We did not try their food, so I can only speak of the quality based on the reviews I saw online. But I do not regret that I did not get to try this food, because after this experience, it's simply not worth it to endure an ill-tempered man's misbehavior to get something as inconsequential...
Read moreWent there because of raving reviews on TripAdvisor. The food did not disappoint. Frituur No.1 is quite famous abroad, it means fries- Belgian fries. I tried it and i liked it even though i don't eat potato. However, I love burgers, especially red meat ones. Like most of the places in Pokhara, during Dashain season, menu was limited and we had a cheese burger. The patty was a perfect blend of pork and buff meat which made it tasty and filling. Cheese croquettes were okay, most people would like it. You have to buy the different sauces separately but at 30rs per dip, i didn't mind it. I guess the best part of this place is the overall food preparation. From the patty to the cheese and buns were nicely grilled and was fresh. The patty wasn't frozen and deep fried, everything was hygienic. My recommendation is to visit the place once and try...
Read moreGreat place for burgers and Belgian beer they have some exclusive beer If you're looking for a satisfying meal in Pokhara is a must-visit. Their burgers are juicy, flavorful, and packed with fresh ingredients. The buns are soft and fluffy, providing the perfect base for the delicious toppings. I tried the frituur and was thoroughly impressed. The patty was cooked to perfection, and the cheese was melted just right. The combination of flavors was simply amazing. The fries that accompanied the burger were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The atmosphere of the restaurant is casual and relaxed. The staff is friendly and attentive, making you feel welcome. The outdoor seating area offers stunning views of Phewa Lake, creating a perfect ambiance for a...
