I don’t usually leave reviews, but I had such a great experience at Urban Outfitters recently that I felt it was worth sharing—especially because of an employee named Gian.
From the moment I walked in, Gian was incredibly welcoming without being pushy. He asked if I needed help and actually listened to what I was looking for. I mentioned I was trying to put together a last-minute outfit for an event, and he immediately had suggestions that matched my style (and budget). He even helped me find the right sizes and offered honest, helpful feedback—something I really appreciated.
What stood out the most was how genuine and patient he was. I never felt rushed or like I was being "sold" to. He clearly knows the store’s inventory and had great taste, which made the whole experience feel way more personal than I expected from a retail chain.
Thanks to Gian, I left with a full outfit I felt great about—and I’ll definitely be back. Urban Outfitters, you’ve got a real gem...
Read moreWe recently had an appalling experience at Urban Outfitters Amsterdam (Kalverstraat, 1012 NX) involving a manager whose behavior was entirely unprofessional.
After purchasing a pair of jeans with the security tag still attached, we returned to the store with proof of purchase to have the tag removed. Despite approaching the staff politely, the manager, a blonde British woman, treated us with blatant disrespect, insinuating we had stolen the item even after seeing our bank statement as proof. After reluctantly checking the security footage, she removed the tag with a half-hearted apology.
When returning a second item, we expressed our dissatisfaction and stated that we would not be returning to the store. Her response? A dismissive, "Well, if you're getting a gift card, you will be returning, won't you?" This manager not only lacked tact but also crossed professional boundaries in her handling of the situation. We will not be returning to this store, and...
Read moreI visited the store on Tuesday, and was walking around with a piece of clothing I was intending on trying on. I noticed a shirt that I was interested in near one of the entrances, and decided to walk over to it. Apparently I got a bit too close to the door (which the rack was literally positioned right next to it), and it caused the sensor to go off. There was a man who I assume was security standing next to the door, and as he looked around confusingly as to why it went off, he looked at me and yelled "Lady! Don't get so close to the door!" He should've just pointed his finger at that point. Instead of using discernment and realizing it was a mistake, given nobody was entering/exiting the door when it went off, he directed his anger at a customer. The experience killed any desire I had to continue shopping, so I put the clothing back and left. I understand it is his job to ensure items are not getting stolen, but all he managed to do was drive a customer...
