The food and view are both excellent. Very flavorful food and the coffee and tea are nice and strong. My wife and I are in NZ on Christmas vacation/holiday from the States and found this place when wanting to walk Mt. Eden's hiking trail. The cafe is attached to a small but very well maintained and put together history museum and visitor center. Read moreWe really wanted to love this place as the menu and food looked amazing but today we were let down with dissapointing service and wait times.

I would suggest asking at least 1 more person to work on a Sunday… See photos, we waited over 40 minutes for the food to arrive and it was not even hot or had a salad next to it. We didn’t get the chips that are supposed to come with the quiche (and yes, I made a comment to the staff on the day). Worst experience ever. Do not...
