As a fervent burger enthusiast, I'm always on the lookout for mouthwatering gems. My recent visit to Bacon Bros Burgers, nestled in The Little High Eatery in Christchurch, was met with anticipation as I ordered their top burger - the Man Mountain. The experience, however, was underwhelming and leaves much to be desired.
Upon arrival, the presentation was impressive, and the Man Mountain burger looked like a challenge worth tackling. Unfortunately, this is where the ascent towards burger nirvana faltered. To my dismay, the plate on which the burger was served was dirty, which cast a shadow on the overall dining experience.
The ingredients within the burger left me disappointed as well. The patty was dry, and the accompanying toppings didn't bring the needed moisture to the mix. The onion rings, a crucial component in any self-respecting burger, were stale and lacked the crispy texture that is so highly sought after. To make matters worse, the bacon tasted as if it had been prepared the day before, which is quite unexpected from a place that prides itself on its bacon.
At a steep price of $24.50, the Man Mountain burger simply doesn't live up to its name or cost. While the presentation might have been initially enticing, the subpar ingredients and execution were far from satisfying.
To improve their offerings, Bacon Bros Burgers should focus on the following suggestions:
Hygiene and cleanliness should be top priorities. Ensuring that all plates and utensils are spotless will greatly enhance the overall dining experience for customers. The quality and freshness of ingredients need to be improved. This includes using freshly cooked bacon and preparing crisp, delicious onion rings that add texture to the burger. The dryness of the patty is an issue that can be addressed by either adjusting the cooking method or incorporating sauces and toppings that provide sufficient moisture. Reevaluate the pricing strategy to ensure that the quality and portion size of the burger justify the cost.
Despite the underwhelming experience, I remain hopeful that Bacon Bros Burgers can learn from this feedback and elevate their offerings to the level that burger enthusiasts expect. A revamped Man Mountain burger, featuring fresh and flavorful ingredients, can indeed be a towering success in Christchurch's...
Read moreWelcome to the Fergburger of Christchurch! Distinctively different tastes but both are epitome of good burgers. I am based out of town and traveled 3 hours just to try them. Regret, I did not!
First off, the 6 of us all had different burgers. The mountain burger that you see is aptly named The Man Mountain, and I swear it is freaking ginormous and definitely can be shared if you're not a big eater. Definitely your daily intake of protein and we were all gobsmacked by the delightfully greasy, overflowing ingredients.
I personally ordered Shane, which tbh, was a little disappointing in size when compared to The Man Mountain. The patty wasn't the juiciest maybe because it was a thicker-than-usual patty. However, having hashbrown in it was a winner for me. The chorizo added a burst of flavour to the burger, which complimented very well. The whole burger wasn't as easy to consume by the mouthful as I expected, as the sauces were overflowing and was a bit annoying towards the end. That's a good annoyance for sure, rather than not having enough of it.
I wanted to order the battered onion rings and I regretted so much not doing it. However, we ordered the Bacon Bros Fried Chicken as a side to share and it was so juicy! The batter was really good.
Despite having a queue, the turnover rate was high and we received our burgers in less than 10 minutes.
I'm glad I found an extremely good burger joint in CHC! Can't wait to try Shaka Bros next and see how consistent their...
Read moreFirst time dinning at the little high eatery in Christchurch. What an amazing experience I had. So many options amongst a thriving somewhat busy food junction.
My stomach was bigger than my eyes this day as I ordered pork ribs as well as the biggest and yummiest burger I've eaten in my life 😋
Monday lunchtime was the perfect time to go as there were heaps of free seats an loads of parking.
Bacon Brothers Burgers is the first stall on the left as soon as you walk in through the front door. This place serves a good range of homemade burgers, including beef chicken vegetarian, paleo, keto. All burgers served with Andy's Mums Aioli n BBQ sauce. (Average) special mention the beer battered fries were cooked to perfection. Golden and crunchy, with right amount of seasoning.
Great recommendation option from staff as I was Super starving. 😋 I ordered The Man mountain at 24.50, comes with two smashed patties, cheese, chicken, bacon, onion rings, tomato, lettuce and egg! Worth every cent! Mouth was Literally watering at the sight of this thing. Extremely flavourful. Great balance of textures. Crunchy onion rings to the succulent hand crafted beef patties. 😋 😋 😋 Would definitely go back for a feed and I Highly recommend 'The Man Mountain' Burger from Bacon Brothers Burgers for anyone who has a...
