Service here was terrible as was the food. Food first: Had the fish Bao. Bao was doughy, fish was not as advertised. Had the beef and chicken dumplings. Beef dumplings were incredibly hot on the outside and cold on the inside. Very doughy and tasteless. Found a huge wad of frozen ginger in one. Chicken dumplings were chewy and tasteless. Service: failed to make half the food. Unhelpful and didn’t believe us when we complained - and went back to the computer. Don’t eat here. A waste of your money

My boyfriend is a huge fan of their Dan Dan Noodles and we have to go in and get one everytime we pass by Little High. This time the Dan Dan was amazing as usual. Be sure to ask for extra homemade chili oil if you are one who can take the heat (real Sichuan heat!). I ordered the dumpling tasting platter, and loved every single one of the flavors. But my favorite were coriander and chive pork dumplings. Keep up the great taste, Eight Grains!

Great food in a lively shared venue. Really enjoyed the tonkotsu ramen, very flavourful and the toppings are great! Could do with an extra piece of chashu, maybe ask if it can be an add-on. Very friendly and helpful staff, food came out quite quickly. The venue has market-style shared seating, and gets quite busy. Keep an eye out for open seats, may end up sharing a bigger table with another group.

Updated: Hi Mia, first of all, thanks for your time to respond to my review.

Regarding the service, as you said Remi didn't represent the best of your team. As working in the hospitality business, I think you should be well understanding of the front-line staff/receptionist (taking order/serving in front counter) is the face of your business. If she doesn't have a smiley face, she should not work in hospitality service at all. This attitude is not only damaging your business but also let other feelings down as well. Customers do not deserve to walk in your business with happy and leave with disappointed. Food quality is important but poor service would not last your business for long.

Regarding the NEW ramen noodle, which is doughy with poor quality, and thanks for your efforts to bring authentic food as explained. However, if the new things are not as good as the previous one, we would not deserve to pay for your experimenting. Also using Chinese chili oil for spicy ramen is well-destroying the taste of the broth as well. Is that the new authentic spicy taste of Japan from China?

Well, thanks for that. But I would rather go somewhere else for good Japanese taste or better service with nicely welcoming staffs. I am sorry but I have to change my previous 3 stars to 1 star as I think I won't be coming back.

1st Review: Sorry the team at Eightgrain, don't want to rate you down ( would deserve 1 star if this place unchanged). I don't often give detailed feedback to let the team down, this is to try to save one of our favorites dine out places.

As a regular clients group, we have been coming here mostly once or twice every week for spicy ramen and seafood fried rice, pork suimai, great staffs. Very disappointed last 2 times visit Eightgrains in little high, it seems to be under new management. The new owner/manager (Remi) is unfriendly, felt a bit of racist on the way she talked to my brother, unlike the rest of the team, they are all super friendly and so sweet. Regarding food quality, it is absolutely 100% disappointed, they changed Chinese eggs noodle instead of ramen noodle (please do not tell we they are the same, it is not a good example of fusion mix at all), Spicy ramen sauce is replaced with Chinese chili oil flavour, steamed pork suimai plain, less flavor. If someone can save this place to bring back the original atmosphere of hospitality and the consistency of...

Ordered on Uber. Tiramisu was off/spoiled. I took one bite and spat it out. I called the store immediately and asked when it was made. The staff member checked and told me it was made on the 9th, I ate it on the 18th. Thats way too long to keep and sell dairy products. I asked her not to sell anymore of this batch as people will get sick. She said someone would call me back about this. I got no phone call. Next day I called again and staff again confirmed it was from the 9th and that someone would email me. I got no email. Ive ordered from this store many times before and the stirfried noodles are consistently nice but everything else had had some thing wrong everytime. Chicken bones found in ramen, edmame with absolutely no flavour, rotten Tiramisu etc. Wouldn't recommend ordering from here as they clearly don't care about selling very old...

Such a great looking menu, but the execution was just not there :( The bao buns could use a thoughtful reinventing. I had both meat bao buns and they were unimaginative, basically a fried piece meat and bread, and the vegetarian bao bun had lettuce and tomato on it which is not at all the flavoring profile or ingredients to go on a bao bun. All the bao buns could have used a fun sauce on them (or much more of it). For the price they could be more fun and creative. The vegan dan dan had great spice. Looking forward to coming back once it has...
