We went to Caribe Latin Kitchen for lunch. I ordered the Vegetarian Arepas and it took a while to arrive. Seating was limited so we had to sit at a small table for the six of us, in the hot sun. The tables were pretty and the small restaurant had a cool atmosphere. When my food came, the Arepas was in the small bowl, which made it difficult to pick up with my hands without all the salad spilling out. I ended up having to eat it with a knife and fork, still managing to spill some salad on the table as there was just too much salad. I'm not sure if the dish was supposed to have sauce on it, because not having any sort of moisture made the dish dry and quite bland. I wouldn't eat here again, although I only had one dish, so the other dishes may be better tasting.

How could you turn down the authenticity of South American staff offering churos, tacos, and arapitos to die for. This little corner of the Little High Eatery ensured you have a new found appreciation of South and Central American food and drink. Alongside sangria and lighter Mexican Dos Equis beer, Caribe's fish taco is delicious meanwhile their Cubano sandwich has "all of the good flavours." Be sure to share some made-on-site corn chips and dip. The Latin American food is ideal for gluten free with cornbread and corn tortillas as staples. Go here for FANTASTIC food, and enjoy the easy adventurousness of the menu. Sit at the bar and chat to staff or snuggle into a booth among the hustle and bustle.

It’s not perfect but the variety of choices are fun. I went here three different times during my visit to Christchurch. The yuca frita was really good and a nice portion. The coxinha was also delicious and a decent size. I didn’t love the pork arepa as the seasoning was just okay. The tequeños I tried also seemed undercooked so would’ve been better if cooked longer. I also tried the horchata, which was fine, but pricy for the size. And the Guaraná I tried was perfect, of course! The first time I visited the guy who I ordered from was so friendly and cool. But the guy I ordered from the two other times was not as friendly. Still worth a visit, even if it’s just do get your fave Latam drinks!

I went to Little High eatery last night with 4 other people. I had never eaten at Caribe Latin Kitchen before, but the menu looked good so I decided to give it a go. Like a lot of the other reviews here.. the food was average and the service was terrible. The line was long and the staff were less than interested to be hasty taking orders. The guy making drinks kept interrupting the girl that was on the till, making it even slower than it already was. After I finally ordered (went with chicken chimichangas) I asked how long the wait would be and was told 25 minutes. There weren't actually that many people waiting for food, a lot of it was just drink orders, so I though surely it won't be THAT long. I went back to my table and everyone else had already ordered and received their food from other vendors. 25 minutes later my buzzer went off. I went back to collect my food and saw a sign that said you could pick how spicy you wanted it. I wasn't asked during my order, and therefore they went with the default option which is "no spicy". It was bland, luckily there was some chipotle sauce that you could put in a little cup and take with you. After the long line, uninterested staff, long wait for food, and the food itself being average I can safely say I won't...

I regret to say that my recent experience at Caribe Latin Kitchen was incredibly disappointing and concerning. My whole family and I suffered from severe food poisoning after dining there on November 26th for a birthday lunch. 6/8 of us chose to order caribe Latin kitchen and of those 6 all of us got severe food poisoning the next day. Not only was the quality of the food unsatisfactory, but the aftermath led to significant health issues.

Moreover, upon reaching out to the restaurant to address this serious matter, there was an utter lack of communication or acknowledgment of the problem. I did not hear back from my email concerning the incident I decided to reach out through Caribe Latin Kitchens's Instagram and they “seened” my message regarding our visit. The disregard for customer well-being and the absence of any attempt to rectify the situation are unacceptable.

I strongly advise against dining at Caribe Latin Kitchen due to the grave health risks and the restaurant's neglectful response to this matter. Caribe Latin Kitchen used to be one of our go-to restaurants but after they have failed to prioritise food safety and take responsibility when such incidents occur we are utterly...

What a disappointment! My party of three rocked up and each bought a Cuban sandwich ($20, yikes) and waited far too long as it was evident that the server (who was also somewhat rude) had not placed our tickets in the kitchen for the chefs to see. After receiving the sandwiches, they were tiny (I’d hesitate to pay $15 for the size), tasted awful, and we’re fairly certain that some of the pulled pork wasn’t cooked properly as two of us had to spit out a chunk of unrendered pork fat. To make matters worse, the processed American cheese was solid and burnt on the bottom and there were a total of two paper-thin slices of pickles for each serving. That’s depressing. I really hate to write these words because the store decor was so fun and welcoming! I dearly hope we didn’t get food poisoning, I would highly recommend going somewhere else in Little High, at the very least we got to check out all of the other menus while we were waiting for our food, so we’ve got some ideas...
