Paddy McNaughton's Irish Pub — Restaurant in Christchurch

I know it is tempting to go to the Church next door for a drink but that would be silly because Paddy's is far superior. It is a quaint little Irish pub with classic drink options (Irish whiskys, Magners cider, Kilkenny and Guinness). They do a cozy trivia night on Wednesdays and on most of the other nights they offer live music you can tap your foot along to the beat. The staff is marvelous and uber friendly. Isaac, Brian, Ben and Matt always take the time to appreciate the regulars and draw new people into the mix. If it wasn't for the pleasant staff I might never have returned. Visited this place with bunch of my friends on Friday's night. Everything ruined by security guy at the entrance. I walked out of the bar just to say a bye to leaving friends and security did not let me go back in with an argument "we are closing soon". I explained to him the pub looks quite full and I still have half of the beer on the table and other friends in there but he was unyielding and rude. Never visiting again just because of this guy. Wondered around central Christchurch on a Thursday evening, we were intrigued by the Irish music being played loudly out of Paddy McNaughton's. Entering these premises, you might think you were in Ireland itself. It was so busy, hot and loud. Management and Bar staff were so enthusiastic and accommodating.
