I had a lovely experience at Westend Stories. The smashed peas and avocado dish was absolutely amazing—so fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The food overall was fantastic, coming out quickly and tasting great, which made for a really enjoyable meal. The space itself is inviting and well-designed, offering a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere to sit and enjoy your time. While the customer service was decent, there’s room for a bit more warmth and attentiveness. The coffee was just okay—not particularly memorable, but it paired well with the meal.

A fantastic brunch spot in the heart of Christchurch! The décor and atmosphere is modern yet welcoming, with warm lighting that makes it feel inviting. The menu offers a great variety of brunch options with plenty of sides to choose from – salmon, bacon, rosti, avocado, and creamy mushrooms to name a few. I went with the Full Westend and especially enjoyed the corn salsa – it was a fresh and tasty twist I hadn’t had with eggs before. Definitely worth a visit if you’re after a delicious brunch in the city

I guess we got what was left after the lunch rush 🙄. From the cabinet a sad salad that was 50% soggy oily croutons and 20% onion. And an apparently toasted corned beef sandwich with bread that also couldn't be chewed. We left poorer and hungry. Genuinely disappointed as the location and vibe and surroundings are great (two stars). But if this is representative of the food standard, bring on more competition in the city centre. Still considering if we go back.

Hmmm… can’t say we had the best time. 4 of us came for brunch and frankly it didn’t feel like this place had their stuff together. Staff were flustered since we walked in and and were pretty inattentive the whole time. After waiting a long time to order there was an accident where one of the waitresses spilled 3 boiling hot coffees all over the table which then covered one of our guests pants, shoes or jumper. Whilst it was a total accident… there was a weak apology, a scrurry to clean up and then nothing. nothing to make up for the fact our guest was covered in flat white. The food was ok… nothing impressive. A bit suprised we were asked to pay our bill in full after what happened, but it is what it is. Won’t be back - staff need...

I have previously enjoyed drinks at this cafe but was very disappointed after my experience this morning. I went to brunch with five friends and, trying to be budget conscious, I ordered three sides rather than a full meal. The shock came when I went to pay my bill and was advised of an $8 surcharge for "building my own meal". I have been unable to identify this charge on the menu and was not advised of this when I ordered. When I explained my surprise about the charge to the staff member at the till and that I'd not been advised of this charge she was quite rude and didn't apologise. Prior to this, I had been planning to return as my food was delicious. However the surprise charge and rude attitude left a bad taste...

Lovely little spot for a coffee among the greenery. Had a Green Smoothie and it was delicious - was gladly surprised by the pineapple sharpness that balanced out an often 'boring' green juice. Worth the price and the atmosphere!

Losing points as I glance at the food menu (and deli area) to find next to no vegetarian/vegan options. A cereal bowl and a falafel option, but all the rest covered with meats. Such a pity! An awesome roasted veg salad - did it have to have bacon on top? No, Westend - I don't think it did.

Overall - a sweet spot to come write, look outside the windows and feel...
