Drifter Coffee NZ — Restaurant in Hibiscus and Bays

This is my absolute favourite cafe - I drive up from Auckland for it. The staff are lovely and friendly. The atmosphere is amazing, it is so cozy and welcoming. The seating is mainly comfy couches, when it's busy you will often be sitting around a low table with other customers but I have found everyone to be pretty friendly.

When you order your coffee you get to choose your own cup, and they have such a fun variety to choose from. The coffee is always excellent. The food menu is just toasties, but they are really delicious, and they usually have good vegetarian options. I believe there is also a very small selection of pastries at the counter but I have never tried them.

It's my go to place anytime I'm in Orewa, or anytime I need an escape from Auckland. And best of all it is dog friendly, and has its own dog Cracka who is...

As somewhat of a “spiritual nomad” for me “home is where the heart is”; fortunately my heart was at Drifter Coffee, pretty much daily. I love the staff ( now friends) there, and they always welcomed me with open hearts; loving vibes 💕🙏🏾; and a super hot, large as can be, flat white with 3 sugars, 2 and a half sugars and then eventually 2 sugars - lol; (FYI; that was due to my personal request in relation to my journey with sugar at the time, and not something they imposed on me - lol. 😌
