I wasn't sure how to write this review. I visited Nam D because of the 4.9 star rating, presuming it was going to be outstanding. That isn't really the experience I had. Maybe it was the selection of dishes I chose. But the best I could describe it, is basic, but cheap. So overall still not a terrible experience, but hardly something that gets close to 5 star reviews. I ordered the Calimari as a starter and it came out with just Calimari and sweet chilli sauce. So far, nothing I couldn't do at home. For the main I got Duck yellow curry. It was literally a duck leg with a piece of brocoli, some carrot and potatoes. While it tasted nice, again nothing I couldn't do at home. In summary, the whole meal, including a beer cost just over $50. A bargain for sure. But for something to get nearly a five star review needs to tick all the boxes. I would recommend Nam D if you're after a cost effective meal with reasonable flavours. Just don't expect a 5 star meal, or the best Vietnamese you've ever eaten.

I had a fantastic dining experience at Nam D Vietnamese Restaurant. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The Bun Bo Hue had a rich, aromatic broth and generous portions of meat. The service was warm and attentive, and the owners were super friendly and made sure we were well taken care of throughout our meal. The ambiance is cosy and welcoming, making it a great spot for both casual dinners and special occasions. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic Vietnamese cuisine!

I stumbled upon this little Vietnamese restaurant and was pleasantly surprised! The portions were just right not too big, not too small and the flavors were amazing. The staffs were super friendly and welcoming. They even gave us complimentary chicken summer rolls, which were a delicious appetizer. If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese food in a cozy atmosphere, this is the place to go!

I spent a week in Wellington and ended up eating at this Vietnamese restaurant five times—that alone should tell you something! Every dish I tried was fresh, flavorful, and authentically prepared. I sampled a good variety from the menu, and I can honestly say there wasn’t a single thing I didn’t enjoy.

The service was consistently excellent—friendly, attentive, and efficient every time I visited. You can really tell the team here cares about both the food and the customer experience.

If you’re in Wellington and love Vietnamese cuisine (or even if you’re just curious), this place is an absolute must-visit. I’m already looking forward to coming back next time...

Cosy little place feel very welcoming once stepped inside, Greet with a big smile from the lady. Ordered a bun bo hue and pho, pork bun salad. The sweet and sour fish sour tast like how my mum makes them. The favour are almost as good as in Vietnam. Ice coffee was good, nice and strong with home made ice, now a day it is hard to come by,also Wasn't too stingy on ice and conden milk. Order a pot of hot tea is a must, after drinking that hot tea and the experienced. Make me feel like wanting to order a kicket to go to...
