Read moreVery poor experience, from start to finish. Everything seemed to be relying on history and past glory. The waiting area was made up of an odd jumble of different seats, with walls showing off past "celebrities" who have visited and newspaper articles. Names such as Billy T James, and the guy off the telly, with the hair. I can't remember his name, it wast 40 years ago! Update or get rid of them, drag this place into the 2020's. The service was mostly made up of a guy showing us to our table, taking our order and then bringing our food some time later. The staff were moving around a lot, I could tell because they hit into the back of my chair every time they went past, despite there being ample room behind me. Some around us were served their food fairly quickly and others, like us, waited a long time. There was no effort to clear away our drinks once finished or check if we wanted more. We had to ask for some water for the table as well. We ordered two steaks and two sides, but one of them arrived as a starter, despite it not being listed as a starter. The other side - a baked potato - was terribly dry and overcooked, and had the sour cream all over the outside of the foil. The steaks weren't cooked very well, both rare despite one being ordered medium rare and one medium well done. Luckily they are served on a sizzle plate so we could slice and finish cooking them ourselves. The beef was pretty tough, about as tender as a brick. Plenty of signs around telling us they are the biggest and best steaks in town, and there were large but there was a fair amount of gristle left over. The place looks like it hasn't had an upgrade in decades, there didn't seem to be any air conditioning other than an old fan and the signs looked far more dated than retro. Poor food, poor service, very high prices and no atmosphere make for a memorable night for the...
Read moreHad a wonderful experience at Angus Steakhouse! The atmosphere was lovely, and it was fantastic to see how well the space accommodated our group of 12—definitely a great spot for larger gatherings. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and added to the enjoyable vibe of the evening.
The menu offered a great range of options, including non-red meat and vegetarian dishes, which was awesome to see—ka pai for the inclusivity! The food was cooked beautifully, and everyone in our group enjoyed their meals. However, there are a few small tweaks that could make future dining experiences even better: Serving Sauce with the Meal: My chicken was perfectly cooked—juicy, hot, and tender when it first arrived. Unfortunately, the sauce was brought out about 5–10 minutes later, by which point the chicken had cooled and started to dry out. The sauce itself was delicious, but having it served at the same time as the meat would have enhanced the experience and kept everything fresh and enjoyable. Champagne Presentation: We ordered a bottle of champagne, which was opened and left on the table rather than being stored in an ice bucket. Without proper chilling, champagne can warm up quickly, affecting its flavor and effervescence. For a better experience, I’d recommend serving the champagne in line with standard practice: open, pour, and store in an ice bucket. Water Service: While the staff were lovely, it would be great to see a bit more attentiveness to water service—ensuring jugs are refilled promptly, especially during quieter times.
Overall, we had a great time! Everyone left full and satisfied, and the portion sizes for the steaks and other dishes were impressive. These are just a few small suggestions to elevate an already great dining experience. I’ll definitely...
