Left disappointed as expectations were high given this restaurant was established by Namu Group as advertised on their instagram.

Good tasting Dweji Gukbab, but Gopchang soondae guk needs to be improved.

The Dweji Gukbab was good, but it was somewhat lacking in flavour compared to other shops. The soup came out already seasoned, but a little watered down. Thus we asked for extra seasonings, which enabled us to adjust to my liking (would recommend for you to do this as it does add to the flavour).

The Gopchang soondae guk was a let down unfortunately. The art to cooking gopchang is ensuring the smell of the intestine complements the soup well, but instead you could smell it and it took away from the rest of the soup. Also what was most unpleasant was that the intestine pieces had different textures. Some were really overcooked and others cooked perfectly, which I have never had at other stores - it had me thinking how this was prepared.

The kimchi was SUPER delicious and fresh! Absolutely the highlight here at this place, so i give some extra points for this!

I highly agree with the few reviews about the need to improve their service. The serving staff were stressed (clearly visible with frowning and tension between staff). Hope this can be addressed through ways to improve the teamwork of the servers.

We had to wait about 15mins to get attention of the servers despite multiple attempts, and waited 25mins for our food to be served. Given that these soup based dishes are made to be served quickly and is done by other established korean soup places within Auckland CBD, it did leave me wondering why it took so long for the food to come out.

The environment, on the other hand, was a pleasure to be in, with the interior designed well and ambient. The atmosphere was another highlight to this establishment.

Overall, for the price of the food and the need for improvement in service, I left this place, leaving quite disappointed. I hope the service will improve in the future and that soup based food is further refined. As it is a new establishment, I hope things are addressed...

I am from Busan Korea and I am so confused about what the other reviewers are saying. This is NOT THE LEGIT Korean food they are more like the wannabes. And how come 순대국 and 돼지국밥 is no different? They should be served with different types of broth. If you are looking for a legit 순대국 (blood sausage soup) there are some other good options in town and up North.

돼지국밥 was okayish i mean considering we live in overseas this isn't too bad. I wouldn't pay that much for this kind of meal but if you are keen to try something Korean it's worth trying it.

Service could be improved. The 떡갈비 was served very raw, so we asked the staff if this was normal, and we wanted to make sure it's okay to eat. The staff couldn't tell if it was okay to eat so she took the dish to the kitchen and the kitchen confirmed it's okay it's normal to be bloody but they said they can make it well done. Even though their response was acceptable, i think it would have been better if you checked with customers in advance.

Very poor selection of side dish.

If you don't like fatty porks, i wouldn't recommend it. If you do, you can definitely order 수육 (EXPENSIVE) because their meat is 80% fat.

Overall, still new restaurant. I hope to see...

I came to this restaurant today for a late lunch with two friends. One ordered a large soondae soup, one ordered pork rice soup, and I ordered the spicy gopchang soondae soup.

First, I ordered the regular size and my friend ordered the large size, but the amount of soondae was the same.

Second, the soondae was spoiled. I have a bad cold, so I didn’t notice while eating, but when I tried some cooled-down pieces of soondae, it had a sour, off taste. My friends also tried it and said it definitely tasted spoiled.

However, I had already eaten most of the food and I enjoyed the meal, so I paid and let the staff know afterward. The staff said, “다른 사람도 그렇게 말한 사람이 있어요. 피드백 감사합니다.”(“Someone else also mentioned that. Thanks for the feedback.”)

I was more upset by that comment than the lack of an apology — they had already been told the food was spoiled and still served it.

I used to like this restaurant, so I’m not going to say I’ll never come back. But as a restaurant, I hope they take more care in...

I got the dolsot bibimbap which was really nice, a lot of places don’t heat the pot properly so you don’t get that nice crispy rice at the bottom but here it was perfect. Good amount of toppings and their gochujang was something special. Service was really quick despite the busy evening and I really appreciate that they asked if we wanted refills for the side dishes. My only downside was that we were sat at a table right in the middle of the floor which had a lot of thoroughfare from both staff and customers. I felt a bit boxed in while eating since I didn’t want to block people from going through. I’d suggest trying to grab a table around the edges or outside, I think it’d be a more comfortable experience.
