I'm going to go out on a limb and say Intruders is the hidden gem of Symonds Street. The coffee is superb, the service is excellent and the vibe is comfy and inviting. Its exactly the kind of place you want to come and chill out in. My only regret is that I didn't find it sooner.
Every morning before work I come in for my daily coffee and am greeted with the kindest of welcomes. The staff are always asking how people are and how their day is. I know that those pleasantries seem like a frivolous commodity in our daily lives however the amount of people who forget or will serve you coldly, is rife.
Intruders is a place where it seems like the staff genuinely care. The food is amazing and comes out in a timely manner. (Please see photo for the incredible bacon and eggs on toast I had.) The environment is always immaculate and the music is tasteful.
I highly recommend Intruders to anyone working or studying on Symonds Street. Bring your study group, your colleagues or your family....

Read moreCosy cafe and eatery located conveniently on Symonds Street. This is my go-to spot for studying or getting some work done. The service is quick and friendly, and the coffee is delicious! They’ve got heaps of seating as well as a front patio with umbrellas and high top tables. There’s a lot of options for cabinet food, as well as an extensive kitchen menu. I was surprised to see they have quite a few vegetarian options as well, which is always nice to see. Overall I’d recommend this place as I feel it’s a bit different from just your normal cafe. There’s so many options for cafes especially in the CBD, but this one has always stood out to me as it feels much...
