Decision failure! This morning we decided to have breakfast at Josy for the first time. We've driven past the cafe numerous times and were looking for a change from our usual favourite #atomic #kingsland Service failure! The initial service at Josy was inviting and led us to believe this was a good decision. The waiter was pleasant and had a charming European accent. Our order was taken promptly and we received our tea and coffee within minutes. However, and disappointingly, this is where the service ended. After waiting for 25 minutes for an order of eggs on toast and corn fritters, we realised the table behind us received their order having arrived 10 minutes after us! At this point, I asked the waiter who first served us to check on our order; he returned to let us know the order had not been placed! A token apology and a sheepish grin was the sum-total of the Josy corrective action. We decided not to wait but to pay for our drinks and leave, which is just as well. The same disinterested service continued through to the cash register with zero acknowledgment of the service failure despite the waiter mentioning it! Needless to say, we are back at #atomic #kingsland for a scrumptious breakfast and...

DIRTY PLACE. I went to Josy today for lunch and could see that the place was busy and most of the empty tables were covered with empty plates from previous customers. I cleared my own table. Two other tables next to me were covered with decayed food and that for..... a good half an hour. The waistresses (2 of them) where busy but their journey back to the kitchen were alway with empty hands (instead of taking dirty plates back): no organisation at all. Before leaving, I told the waitress that it was not looking to good to leave empty dirty plates around and leaving the custumer to clean it. That clearing tables should be a priority for hygien purposes... Her answer was quite shocking. "we are short of staff and that will be like that whatever !!!". Rude, dismissive and careless attitude.!!! Maybe the shortage of staff will turn into a shortage of customers.... When I left (one hour after), the tables had not been...

I was hesitant to try this cafe as I was thinking the food wouldn’t be up to my liking but my initial thought turned to be wrong. We had our breakfast today and when we got there, it was packed. However, staff was attentive and we were greeted as soon as we walked in, got offered a table and had our order taken. Although our drinks got lost somehow and the food was served first, one of the staff (lady) noticed it and asked if we were waiting for something else and she followed up and our drinks arrived shortly after. I would say, wait time for the order was not long at all so I was quite impressed with that as well. Josy will be on the list of my...

I came in at 7am this morning for breakfast before work, poor communication as staff started arriving around 7.15am, it was unclear when it was actually open for customers, and the service was very lacking. The lovely lady who waited on me was very kind and sweet tho, and you could tell she had love and care for her job. The food was incredible, I had the Duck Risotto. The matcha was authentic, which has been rare to find in Auckland in my experience. All up I would go again for the food, it was quality, delicious, and I am partial to Vietnamese food, but yeah, most of the service wasn't very good at all which is unfortunate.

I go to this place every Thursday. A regular that my Boss and I go too. It's funny when the waiters know your order, that means it's time for a new place right? But why go somewhere else when you know the food is amazing? Lately, I've been ordering Beef pho, a classic Vietnamese breakfast dish for the cold weather. I also love the Asian omelette too. Another amazing dish. The menu has a variety of different food to choose from. Here are recent pics of our Thursday morning breakfast with my orange juice and a single shot of espresso!

Isn’t it lovely to find a cafe where you can simultaneously get an egg Benedict or French toast and a bowl of pho or pad-thai. A sweet mix of East and West - only if the food is authentic of course. I came in thinking I’ll have a simple sandwich but was tempted by the pho - it didn’t disappoint. The pho had a rich stock filled with a refreshing aniseed fragrance - perfect for a winter day. I drizzled some lemon over the soup and it brought out all the right aroma. I would happily have another bowl. Loved it.
