At first, I saw a lot of people promoting it online, so I chose this restaurant as a restaurant to celebrate my birthday. I had high hopes for this restaurant, but unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. But this was the worst decision for the last twenty-something in life. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very good and the environment is beautiful. So I already called 5 days in advance to make a reservation. It's a pity that when you arrive, you only have a seat directly opposite the door. So what is the purpose of calling 5 days in advance to make a reservation? After much consideration, we finally chose to sit next to the sliding door. A wonderful birthday dinner was ruined by this first step (for many reasons) Meal wise (雷), the food itself was(不) impressive(好). Soft crab somtum salad Far different from what I've had in other Thai restaurants It is normal for soft shell crabs to be fried But the shredded green papaya under the soft-shell crab was also deep-fried, turning what was supposed to be a refreshing salad into a greasy dish. The seasoning is also slightly salty
Sweet and Sour Crispy Pork Belly Very well seasoned, moderately sweet and sour But it's a pity that the pork belly has too much fat. No matter how sour it is, it can't relieve the greasy feeling in the mouth. And the portion is smaller than expected. I feel the price doesn’t match the portion.
Mango Sticky Rice It is the most recommended among the five meals I ordered. The price is reasonable and the portion is OK. Ice-cold ice cream and lukewarm sticky rice are delivered together, giving you a very different experience. I have never eaten Mango Sticky Rice with ice cream before. Worth recommending
In terms of drinks, Thai green milk tea and Thai unicorn milk tea The drink is really nice and nice, but a bit sweet Recommend Thai green milk tea Thai unicorn milk tea looks good but not as tasty as Thai green milk tea I rarely leave negative reviews but this experience was below par. I hope management takes these issues seriously and...
Read moreA tropical Thai surprise in Grey Lynn! I honestly didn’t expect to find such a creative and delicious Thai spot in this part of town!
🍍First up, the seafood red curry fried rice served inside a whole pineapple — talk about presentation! It turned heads as soon as it hit our table. The prawns were big and juicy, the curry was rich without being overpoweringly spicy, and the sweetness of the pineapple balanced everything perfectly. It felt like tropical comfort food at its best.
🥓Then came the highlight — the hanging skewers! You have to try these. They came suspended on hooks, and honestly, the photos don’t do them justice — the visual impact is incredible. I ordered a mix of two types of meat, both grilled to perfection: a slightly charred exterior, super tender inside, and so flavourful. We wiped this dish clean in record time — I would’ve ordered a second round if I wasn’t already full!
🍌Finally, the dessert: deep-fried banana balls with ice cream — absolutely amazing. Crispy on the outside, warm and gooey banana on the inside, paired with cold ice cream… every bite was a party in my mouth. They even added edible flowers for decoration — so pretty!
👨👩👦We were two adults and a child, and we had already eaten earlier in the afternoon, so we didn’t order a lot this time. But wow — it was SO good. We’re definitely planning to come back soon for round two! Everything looked tempting, and there’s still so much on the menu we didn’t get to try.
🌴The interior design was another big plus — full tropical vibes, warm lighting, and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. There’s even a retro-style photo wall. Perfect for date nights or catching up with friends — super photogenic, every corner is a photo op!
‼️Make sure to book in advance! We went on a Sunday evening and were told that without a reservation, the earliest seating would be 8:30pm. So plan ahead — walk-ins might...
