Little Tiger Dumpling — Restaurant in Waitematā

The food was great. Dumplings were of good size with the right amount of fillings. I ordered 8 pieces fried dumplings and had them shortly after while they were still hot and crispy on the outside.👍 There are a few types of sauces to go with the dumplings. But my favourite is still the traditional chilli oil with vinegar. Some peanuts were added to the chilli oil and that gave the chilli an extra "crunch". They do have fried rice on the menu as well. There is a special discount for one type of fried rice everyday. With the discounted price, I couldn't resist and ordered one to try. I must say that it didn't disappoint as well.

Although this is a small take-away outlet, I could sense that the chef (or owner) took pride not only in the food, but also in every aspects of the shop. The place was brightly lit, clean and tidy. He also dressed himself up professionally, and was very friendly...

My husband and I were visiting Auckland and we were intrigued by the amount of places to eat. We walked by this shop and could not resist. Little Tiger Dumpling is truly a hidden gem for take away dumplings or a quick dinning setting. Seating is limited but don’t let that stop you. We got take away pork and cabbage dumplings and chicken fried rice and ate at a near by park. The owner is very sweet and so helpful in all the questions we had. Everything is so fresh and made to order. She even had a deal that if you spent $16.50 NZ you got a drink included with your meal. This humble little shop is a big hit with me! I only review restaurants that WOW me and this place? Superb. I used to live in China and the owner and I clicked immediately. He is the kindest and loveliest man from Nanjing, which is my favourite city in China. The people there are already known for their hospitable nature and delicious food! The handmade fried dumplings were hands down, the BEST dumplings I have ever had in my life. Juicy, flavourful on the inside, crispy and fluffy on the outside.
