Pearl Indian Eatery — Restaurant in Waitematā

One of the best Indian restaurants we've ever been too and it tastes authentic to the food we've had in India. We ordered the dal tadka, mango chicken, samosa and indian roti.

Each dish had such depth of flavour and was well balanced. They nailed the food being rich and so flavourful without it feeling heavy or greasy. That's such a tough thing to do, but this place does it well.

We loved the crisp and spiced pastry for the samosa, super flaky which is exactly how you want it to be. The tamarind sauce that comes with it was perfectly tart and sweet, again just very well balanced.

Another thing to praise, the food was quick and still hot by the time we got home!

This restaurant was truly satisfying. My partner and I visited on a Tuesday evening, wanted to have butter chicken for dinner. The space was spacious and inviting, and the staff greeted us warmly and with genuine friendliness.

We ordered a slightly spicy butter chicken, butter naan, pickles, and garlic chicken curry. The butter chicken was exceptional - adding a touch of spice elevated its flavours perfectly. The garlic chicken curry was also delicious and paired wonderfully with the naan and pickles.

So I drove past on a Monday and noticed they were open. They are never open Monday's, however when I went in the new owner told me they would open every Monday. We have been coming here for a few years, not because it was the best but because it was close, well I'm happy to say it's now close and excellent. The garlic nan's have improved 100% and the curries we had were, hot delicious and way more generous than the previous owner. Hopefully in time they will improved the atmosphere so we can dine in.
