A great dining experience overall. I must recommend it to all of those who wish to know what true pizza really is like in New Zealand.
The restaurant is thoroughly clean and organised. The lighting is ideal and the space is cozy and attractive, making one feel truly at home. The pizza is handmade, with base ingredients such as the 100% Premium Wisconsin Mozzarella and the wonderful sauce made from California Rippened Tomatoes makes for an scrumptious taste adventure. The sides, especially the simple but surprisingly delightful garlic knots and colourful pepperoni wheels only serve to enhance the appreciation of the main dish.
The staff are kind and attentive to customer needs. The restaurant is buzzing with activity between 6:00 and 8:00 PM, but it is coordinated and works well to deliver amazing pizza and provide excellent customer service.
Therefore, I can reach one conclusion regarding Sal's Pizza Parnell: Look no further for an original take on the popular Italian dish. You will not be...
Read moreThe food is delicious but the service is bad. I call and place an order over the phone, restaurant says 15 minutes. I arrive after 25 minutes and my order still isn’t ready and I’m told it would be another 10 minutes for the garlic knots. I’m in a rush so say that I’ll just pay for the pizza and go. The employee (female) says she can give me 3 knots straight away. This employee (female) is also coughing while opening the pizza ovens and handling food. The other employee (male) takes my payment, I ask for the receipt which takes him a very long time to figure out. And then I’m just standing there. Couple minutes go by and they haven’t even put these 3 knots (which I’ve now paid for) into the oven. So I just say give them to me cold. Half an hour later I finally have my pizzas and 3 cold garlic knots. Seems to me the female employee is overworked and not taking sick leave when required, and seems to me the male employee...
Read moreI had never had a bad Sals experience until yesterday. There seems to have been a change in management at the Parnell store, resulting in lacklustre quality food - not something I would ever expect from Sals. The staff were slow, seemingly inexperienced and lacked the typical friendliness you would normally expect at Sals. We waited about 25 minutes for our pizza, when we were told 12 minutes approximately and there was no one else in store. No employee was wearing anything over their hair, which was rather alarming. Our pizza base was undercooked. The person cooking our pizza kept taking ours out of the oven to check if it was ready and still got it wrong. Clearly our pizza was a guessing game. To top it off, our garlic knots were really dry. Super...
