Scratch Bakers — Restaurant in Waitematā

Honestly the best brunch I have had in auckland for quite some time! Could not figure it out, having eaten at both Major Sprout (across the way) and this place in the last month I am blown away that this isn't busier.

My partner and I came in at about 11.30 on a Saturday and had the churros, eggs benedict and a side of fries plus coffees. All outstanding! A particular shout out to the best eggs benedict I've had in years. And whatever the tomato sauce is that comes with the fries is out of this world.

Service was also impressive. The staff were outstanding and friendly - offering extra sauce (which was needed) and even more impressive was that given it was quiet they were readying things for the next customers (absolutely what good staff does)

All up id say this: on the food front this just pips major sprout on the food front and is miles ahead in service.

I come to this cafe every single day for a brief reprieve from the monotony of my life and may I say every day I leave with a beaming smile on my face. The girls behind the counter are such a good laugh and the coffee is always delicious - gotta love a hot Java in the morning am I right!?!? Usually I go for a humble eggs on toast which is consistently a winner, however the other day I strayed from my usual path and opted for the new leek and potato pie. What an absolute showstopper!! The delicate marriage of hearty potato and fragrant leek paired in stunning harmony to a light, crispy and buttery pastry had me positively jumping for joy. I’m personally writing this to the talented (and dare I say attractive) chef as a plea to keep this pie on the menu. Salut Scratch Bakery.. here’s to many...

been here few times as lockdown goes longer you try to find new cafes to go saw scratch bakers sounds like a proper bake shop which they somehow make from scratch so it should be fresh so far we have tried the plain and almond croissant, frozen beef cheek pie, steak toastie and ham brioche and their coffees the coffee were good the large size runs small all the croissants disnt taste and looks fresh the frozen pie were good when we heat at home it was moist and had a great flavor. The steak toastie was also good the brioche is a mistake the onion for me was too strong the quality of the brioche was mushy the display area for pastries and donuts looks underwhelming they...
