Read moreWe decided to try The Fat Seed Café + Roastery in Greenbelt after seeing it recommended by Tatler Asia. My search for pet-friendly cafés led us here, so of course, I brought my adorable doggy along for the experience.
Ambiance & Service: Yes, they’re genuinely pet-friendly! My doggy was allowed inside the air-conditioned area, which is a huge plus for fur parents like me. The staff, however, left me with mixed feelings—while they weren’t unfriendly, their service lacked the warmth and attentiveness that would make the experience feel truly welcoming.
Food & Coffee: The affogato I ordered was the highlight. The espresso, with its bold and rich flavor, paired beautifully with the vanilla extract ice cream. However, I was a little disappointed that the espresso was pre-poured over the ice cream, robbing me of the tactile joy of pouring it myself—a small detail, but one that makes a difference.
The mushroom omelet was decent but not standout. The addition of truffle oil overshadowed the natural umami of the mushrooms, a detail I found unfortunate. Knowing that most truffle oils are synthetic, it detracted from the dish’s authenticity. Additionally, the eggs were cooked on the firmer side, likely for safety, but at the expense of texture.
Overall: The café gets points for being truly pet-friendly, offering my adorable doggy a comfortable and relaxed space. While the food and coffee had their moments, the lack of standout flavors and a touch of overprocessed elements held back the experience. Nonetheless, it’s a pleasant spot for a coffee break, especially for fur...

Menus were not provided to us. After waiting for some time, we got up and got our own menus for our table of three.
Also, when we were seated, it should be automatic that water should be served. We had to get up and get our own water ourselves. Amazingly, they do charge a service fee. An additional fee that isn't justified, considering how they lack basic and fundamental service (giving out menu books, serving water, orders came in split and delayed).
Lastly, the meals were served at different times on our table of three. Thus, one had their meal while the other two had to wait for a long time. It made for an unpleasant experience as we were supposed to eat together. We waited what seemed like eternity until all the orders came in before we finally digged in. Is it too much for the kitchen to bring our orders together? Yet they charge a service fee.
There is a lot of logistic execution that must be mastered here by management. Too many staff were going about un-coordinated with no sense of direction.
We spent $45 for our brunch. Our experience was poor because the store's service was poorly executed.
Close the store for one week and train the staff on the basics of best practice methodologies. Especially focus on food safety, customer journey,...
