Stepping into House Brew Boracay is like finding a little slice of tranquility amid the island's vibrant energy. The cafe, with its sleek and minimalist design, offers a welcome respite from the sun and sand. It's the kind of place where you can comfortably settle in with a book or enjoy a leisurely catch-up with friends over a great cup of coffee.

The menu at House Brew is a delightful mix of healthy and indulgent, with options ranging from hearty breakfast bowls to specialty coffees. But there is one item that stands out above the rest and is, without a doubt, an absolute must-have: the Ube Cheese Ensaymada.

This isn't your average ensaymada. It perfectly balances sweet and savory. The brioche bun itself is incredibly soft and fluffy, with a beautiful purple hue from the ube. But the magic truly happens when you bite into the ube cream filling, creating a harmonious and addictive flavor profile. Paired with a hot Americano, it's a taste of Filipino comfort food elevated.

While the cafe has many other appealing items, including their delicious acai bowls and a variety of cakes, the Ube Cheese Ensaymada is the star of the show. It's a treat that you'll find yourself dreaming about long after you've left Boracay. Don't leave the island...

Kory's Coffee Ratings:

[] What did I just drink? Was that mud? It certainly wasn't coffee. [] I would only drink again if I had a raging caffeine-withdrawal headache and had no other options. [] Not too bad, not too good. It'll do in a pinch. [X] This is a good cup of coffee! Would drink again. [] This DEFINES coffee. Hordes of coffee houses pale in comparison. I am now hesitant to drink coffee anywhere else!

During my recent trip to Boracay, I was on the lookout for the best coffee on the island. My experience there was somewhat limited, but I can confidently say that this was the better of the coffees I tried. The white mocha was neither too bitter nor too sweet; it was well-balanced, and the artistic design present on the surface of my coffee was a nice added touch. Unfortunately, my wife said her Flat White with soy milk was not exceptional.

I was actually more impressed by the food than I was by the coffee. The vigan longganisa melted in my mouth, the tocino had that delightful sweetness to it, the beef tapa was robust in flavor, the scrambled eggs were cooked just right, and the garlic rice was serviceable. If ever I am in Boracay again, I believe I will be returning for the...

Unfortunately, my experience was poor.

I got their acai bowl that had some moldy berries in it. I waited till there were no people around to privately tell the staff about it, and they said that "berries were ordered yesterday and it's just you who complained". Well, that may be true but hey, it still happened! What kind of an excuse is that?

Their flat white coffee looks just like americano with milk, not even a slightest hint of any foam or anything... That's, according to the staff, "is their standard". Well, ok.

I paid the full price plus the service charge & they were obviously not interested in even trying to solve the situation.

Maybe I was just unlucky but this is my first and - obviously - only experience in that place.

Giving 2 stars for staff at least being very polite and a comfortable desk to work at (didn't use their wifi, by the way, as it was much slower than even the free...

Latte was OK just tasted more like a nespresso coffee. My partner ordered a decaf (extra 30 peso) and oat milk (extra 60 peso) but it basically came out as a white coffee I asked why it wasn't like a latte should be they said you can't use oat milk on the throther. She has oat milk coffee every day for years and never heard that one. I wouldn't recommend the oat option here and coffee in general wasn't great. Nice view though. Oat milk shouldn't be poured in cold as it goes bitty and funny, especially if not shaken. Maybe they need abit of training in alternative milks. In fairness the cakes and cold drinks look amazing maybe that's their speciality over coffee.
