Aluna Beach Lounge — Restaurant in Panglao

Bully Owner...! UPDATED: I used to be a regular customer to this place until I accidentally had a personal encounter with the owner of this lounge at a different club. I was with my partner at one of the local clubs in Panglao. It was very warm in the club so I was looking for fan. Unfortunately this club only has one industrial fan and normally directed to the dance floor. I know this because I have been coming to this club for the last 4 months. However, this time the fan was directed to only one table next to the dj booth for this group of people. I came to tilt the fan and face it to the dance floor where it usually directed so I can temporarily get some air. However, one of the men who looks British tourist to me was complaining why I turned the fan. It then escalated to him trying to throw an ice picker to me so I stood my ground and said, "try to throw it and see what happens". One of the staff who I happened to get acquainted with and had to say to him, not to do it and she had to calm me down because I would not back down from bullies. Then she whispered to my ear, he is actually the owner of Aluna Beach Lounge.

Long story short, I updated this review on the basis that I refused to support an establishment whose owner is a bully especially to women, who thinks the world revolves around him and he was behaving appalllingly in front of his staff. Drunk or not, taking out his team and behaving like that speaks volume of his character! I would feel sorry for his staff and I hope he does not mistreat his staff the way he does to strangers! When I first did my review of this place, it was nothing special and still to this day! The only thing good about this place is they serve a non-alcoholic drink, Mango shake which was so-so! The music is a hidden mist! It depends on who the DJ is! Mostly Fri night they have decent music. The ladies are quite friendly and accommodating. The location is not too bad, right in front of the beach but it never beats the Hena bar. I had meat rolls and it was very salty and the pastry was quite thick! It was not for me.

This was my fourth trip to Panglao, and my boyfriend's first. We went to a bar I frequent, and there was a man behaving strangely and harassing other customers. He approached our table, kissed my boyfriend on the head, and then began touching other people. When he tried to touch my boyfriend again, I told him to stop. He called me a derogatory term, and I threatened to report him to the police.

The waitress spoke to him and tried to mediate the situation, but I was very disappointed. She claimed he was a nice guy, he is their friend, and as per her he is always like that which I strongly disagreed with. He is not a nice man, he is old drunk man who is feeling entitled, I insisted on calling the police if he didn't stop. Though the waitress was very apologetic but the bar could have handled it better, how come you prioritize a man who is harassing your other customers? I will leave that question to you.

I believe that while we can't always avoid encountering unpleasant people in public places, there are limits to acceptable behavior. This man's actions were unacceptable, and I felt violated by his behavior. My boyfriend wanted to confront him physically, but I persuaded him to let me handle the situation.

Will never ever come back to this bar again, this was my favorite bar in Panglao but dont feel...

So disappointed. We were enjoying our time. Music was good, vibes were good. We ordered a bucket (6 beers) and some food. The waitress suggested to bring 2 beers each round instead of the whole bucket at once to keep the beers cold. We agreed cause it made sense. When she brought the second round, she said “oh that’s your last round.” We thought she was joking and just laughed it off. We finished our 3 rounds of beers (6 in total). When we got the bill, we got charged 2 extra beers. When we questioned it, she said “I told you it was your last” and was being rude about it. I said no it was only 4 at that point. They did subtract the extra beers, but at that point she made us look like liars. Huhhhhhh? Her whole attitude didn’t help. So so sad cause the music was really good and vibes were immaculate but ate waitress ruined it for us. When you order a bucket, make sure to get all 6 beers at once or keep the empty bottles...
