My partner and I shared three pasta dishes here and the only memorable one was the Ravioli con tartufo. The flavours in the ravioli were impeccable! Would definitely recommend this one.
As for the other two we ordered, the Fiocchetti con gorgonzola was decent. The noodle shape itself was super interesting and the pear and cheese flavours were good but I'd say it just needed a little more flavour. The last dish, the Strozzapreti con manzo, was the one we were most excited for for the beef flavours but this one was most underwhelming. We had to add quite a bit of salt and overall, it was something I felt I could easily make at home. Nothing exceptional about it.
The ambience of the restaurant was lovely. It was in a great spot in the city centre and the garden location was very romantic. We stopped by a cocktail cave bar called Ministerstwo Tajemnic just next door before our reso and had one of their signature "potions" there. Not a bad place to grab and drink beforehand if you're planning on dining at La Campana.
Overall, decent experience. Drinks were good, service was excellent! Give the ravioli a try if...
Read moreGood food, but staff wasn't very friendly. After having ordered they put the food on the table without saying anything. The ribeye was served on a hot plate on a separate table, so we didn't know if there was anything else that needed to be added. Usually it's customary in a restaurant to say 'have a good meal', but that wasn't the case. They put down the food without any word. Also didn't ask if we enjoyed the meal, and after we were finished they cleared the plates with again no spoken words. After having used the bathroom, I asked for the check, to which the guy just said 'yes' and I stood there because I figured I would just pay right there, but then he again, more agitated, said yes, probably because he couldn't immediately let me pay or something. But nonetheless, it was quite rude. I am not sure what the unfriendly treatment was for, it looked as if it was specifically aimed at only us as well. Maybe they just specifically disliked us for some reason. Very disappointing. I always tip as well, but chose not to now...
Read moreWe finally went to la campana as we have heard many good opinions about the restaurant. Indeed the garden was quite charming however there are bins right in the middle of it so to squeeze more tables on the court the owners placed some of them quite close to the bins, so that I could smell them during the meal (to this extent that I asked to change our table). On top of this there is some kind of worker's area behind the court and our next table was next to it's entrance so we had crowds of cooks, waiters and other staff passing all the time by our table which was very disturbing. The entrance was selection of hams and here another disappointment- it looked and tasted like from a supermarket rather than home made/cut ones. I found a choice of pastas a bit poor, also when we ordered calzone they had none and we found out only once we ordered them. Finally the main courses (pasta with seafood and risotto with beef cheek) were pretty good but still I would not...
