Do not recommend!
Bland and cold to lukewarm food. One in our party got the wrong item ordered, once it arrived, we made space for the food by moving fork and knife, the waiter then roughly and irretably placed the food on the far end for us to move to place as he had no patience for us.
Some americans near our table demanded compensation for their faulty order, bland and cold food which they ate because they were starved and could not wait any longer even though they stated that their food was faulty to what it was described in the menu.
On the outside a really fancy and good looking restaurant with cozy atmosphere but dont be fooled. If we went on google for reviews we would've stayed away! Menu looked decent so we stayed because we didnt know better.
Was there early so few people were around even though, the service was slow.
Sardines - large and not gutted and the intestines just poured out as you dig into the sardine sandwhich Bolo de caco - bland cold meat between pita, with lukewarm soggy oily fries. The fries were saltier and had more taste than the meat Steak with french fries - steak with lays chips instead of what was described.
No sides or sauces what so ever to these dry and bland dishes, that would probably kick up the price even more.. if they now had the taste palettes to back up the taste of this joke of a dinner.
The one thing we did enjoy was the wine!
We later went uphill towards principe real and got some amazingly tasty kebab with spiced meat and amazing toppings in a narrow street, cramped local kebabshop for 3.5€. That money...
Read moreFood selection is standard, only a few wines available in a glass rather than a bottle. This is fine by itself, but someone received an opened bottle instead of a closed one.
Our seafood risotto had several closed mussles with beards intact. The shrimp were obviously frozen, impossible to peel and had organs intact. Also no extra plate provided for empty shells.
The cherry on top: the waiter dropped food on my girlfriend's bag and clothes when taking our small trash plates off the table (while we were still eating), left a dropped shell on the floor and on the table and walked off with a "oh, sorry" and never came back. We then realised the bag was stained and when we asked for a napkin to clean it inside, we were redirected to the waiter that dropped the food. A bit annoyedly, we let him know the bag is stained and asked for a napkin again. He walked off and had another waiter talk to us who gave us some wet napkins. We said thank you, and he said "you're very welcome! Take as many as you'd like" in the most screw-you tone imagineable. Then, he asked if we wanted to add a tip to our bill - suffice to say we did not, and the fact he even asked made me wish we had pulled a dine and dash. Not that the uninterested waiters would have noticed.

Service was poor...dishes was medicre...we rejected octoous because it was ruined in kitchen...tagliatelle with schrimps was half good...but schrimps.was half processed and not pealed...so the whole dish wasn finished proper. Mussels was naturale...but without taste...maybe it is traditional approach...to be without any taste..onky garlic ( i like garlic ) Waiter was with us in first 35 min...after that he wasn't approaching until the bill. One hour no one came to our table... We had a recomendationn for this place...but...it wasn't good. I wish them all the best..but we.wont come back...and since this is tourist area...i dont think they mind it at all...wasted time&money. And on the end the manager wanted to bill us octopus...and we had a discussion with him...the a fight between manager and waiter who will pay 25e for that dish....i wish them all.the best...but this was poor presentation of Mar Ao Largo...and I am not the person who doesn't respect all the effort...no matter what is professional capacity of the stuff....owner....manager....this was something else.
