I ate with my wife in Honorato Chiado one week ago (March 2016). Nothing to complain (nor to praise) about the food,
However we are very upset about the staff. Basically, I tried to pay with my credit card several times but apparently there was some kind of problem, so I finally was forced (in a not very polite way) to pay in cash (by the way, I received part of my change -€9- in 20c and 50c coins, with not the slightlest apology -when I saw the mountain of coins I thought it was a joke-).
Since my card does not usually fail, before leaving the restaurant I checked my bank account with my mobile app and found out there was a double charge for the same meal, meaning that a TRIPLE charge had been made (two bank charges and the in-cash payment).
After explaining the situation to the waitress and waiter, they wrote down my bank details and told me a refund would be made the next day; I was told I could not obtain the cash refund but that both bank charges would be bounce back to me as soon as they could check the double bank charge in their system.
However, so far I have only received a single refund back (one payment instead of the two due). Therefore I still have paid twice for the same meal. It's not an expensive place and I can live with it, but they seem to have acted in bad faith and I don't like to be taken for a fool (they knew perfectly about the triple charge and I have sent them several emails -not replaid- with my bank statements just to remember them the situation). So if you plan to go there, I invite you to dine and dash (it's on me).
UPDATE 31 March 2016: To be fair, I must say that they finally have corrected their mistake today. So I have to acknowledge their...
Read moreWell, where to start. We’ve ordered chicken burgers, first of all they seem a bit smaller than regular burgers, that wouldn’t be a problem but for some reason they’ve put barbecue sauce inside and it felt completely off, other than that burger was ok, but the sauce took it down a notch. Fries were tasteless, good looking on the outside but without any flavor inside, such a shame, also the mayonese that came with them was like home-made and it also tasted weird (but I gotta admit we were asked if we wanted ketchup or something else at the start, not sure if it would be in price). Overall, the food was below average when you look at the price of these things (12-13€ the cheapest ones). One more thing I absolutely didn’t like was they already come to you with appetizers in hand and ask you if you want them, like relying on your self-doubt if you really want them and just take them. Nail to the coffin was automatically counted 5% tip in the bill, especially when we were asked if we’re ok with it after the bill was printed…once again counting on your self-doubt of just sayin “yeah it’s fine” even if you normally wouldn’t.
In the end, pretty...
Read moreBest hamburger ever 🍔😋 I decided to try something new so I googled restaurants and found this one. The restaurant's decoration has an "old but new" vibe. The tables are made of wood and the chairs are vintage. Also, you can find inside of the restaurant, one of the Vhil's works. Vhil is famous for his portraits on walls. The staff is very friendly and attentive. When I went to the restaurant, the windows were opened, so I could feel the breeze and it was playing some ambient music. The food is delicious. When I ordered the waiter asked me how I would like my meet (medium rare, medium or well done) and they served me exactly how I asked. If you take into consideration where the restaurant is located, the food is not too expensive. The servings are big enough. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you enjoy hamburgers and you are looking forward to eat in a...
