I had a truly delightful dining experience at My Mother's Daughters. This cozy, tranquil café is a gem for anyone looking to indulge in plant-based cuisine that not only satisfies your taste buds but also nurtures your body with wholesome goodness.
The V-Burger was an absolute treat with its perfectly seasoned black bean patty paired with the sharpness of cheddar cheese and the freshness of vegetables, all complemented by the sweetness of roasted sweet potato and the tangy beetroot ketchup. Not only was it a flavorful journey, but the gluten-free promise ensured it was inclusive for those with dietary restrictions.
The Ohmmlet, a creative twist on the traditional omelet, was a savory delight with its chickpea flour base, umami-rich sautéed mushrooms and cherry tomatoes in tamari sauce, all nestled within fresh greens. Its gluten-free and nut-free profile was deeply appreciated, offering a guilt-free pleasure to start the day.
Finally, the Mung Bean Wrap was a marvel of taste and texture. The raw carrots and beetroot brought a delightful crunch, balanced by the creamy richness of cashew mayo, all wrapped in a soft mung bean dough. It was yet another gluten-free wonder that left me feeling both satisfied and energized.
The service was the cherry on top – professional and friendly, making the whole experience not just a meal, but a delightful escape. My Mother's Daughters truly knows how to blend nutritious food with a warm atmosphere, making it a must-visit spot on the Lisbon...

My Mother's Daughters is small vegan cafe, quiet street spot in the sun - we really felt we arrived at Lisbon. Many gluten-free options.
I had a v-burger (comes without a bun). It had a great taste, very meaty taste. Texture great but a bit soft if you're looking for meat replacement. € 15
My husband had vegan burrata with toasted sourdough bread € 5, also available gluten-free crackers + € 1. I've never had real burrata, but my husband said it was very similar in taste and texture.
We both had juice of the day € 4. Water was free.
I had to try the banana bread since it was made with Madeira bananas (I've visited Madeira). The banana bread had a light “spongy” texture and yummy taste of banana, cinnamon and a hint of other cookie spices. € 4.
But it was too much after the burger, and I only finished half of it, and asked for the rest to go - which was wrapped and tightened up to a small package with a blue ribbon.
My Mother's Daughters is a lovely vegan restaurant with good food made from scratch and with several gluten-free options on the menu. I can highly...
Read moreTHE BEST VEGAN RESTAURANT EVER! Living in Asia, I have been eating in many vegan restaurants, Bali, Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, etc... BUT I really can confess that Mother's daughter is the best restaurant I had the chance to eat! I have been there last year and you know what? I can still remember the taste of the dish, the quality of the kind service, all the small attentions I received as a customer! It's the first time ever I can remember such an experience! All the famous Bali ones cannot even be comparated to Mother's daughter! The waitress explained to me in English the whole menu, the inside is freaking gorgeous, the smokey taste of my shiitake mushroom was delicate and made with soy sauce and smoked paprika (not the chemical liquid smoke), the atmosphere was so sweet, I couldn't finish my dessert so they packed it for me with a small sentence on the box... EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT! You know what? I can't wait to come to Lisbon especially to eat...
