Would’ve given no stars if possible. I went there with my girlfriend expecting a nice rooftop bar, a classy Ambiente and a beautiful view. We did indeed get to see a nice view, however, the rest of the experience was horrid. Let’s start with the location of the Hotel in the most touristy, trashy part of Lisbon with Drug dealers waiting in and around the Hotel harassing guests, making the walk to the Hotel extremely uncomfortable. Both my girlfriend and me got dressed up, expecting a certain certain dress code from a supposedly chic bar. However before we even entered the Hotel, staff opened the door and told us that “they’re fully booked however we could wait inside if we wanted to” we chose to wait and give it a chance. As we waited we saw rows of guests taking the elevator up to the rooftop bar and as we prepared to leave, staff stopped us, apologized and told us they’d give us their attention now, and then showed us the way to the bar. Once we arrived on top we realized that there was absolutely no dresscode, people were walking in drunk, wearing flip flops and shorts, it looked like a gas station pub, absolutely no class whatsoever. We were seated relatively quickly and then proceeded to be ignored by waiters for half an hour. When a waiter finally did serve us, I wasn’t in the mood for a drink anymore and chose to just order a water, my girlfriend ordered an Aperol Spritz. Her drink was nothing but water, the worst drink I have ever had. An absolute disgrace. We then watched the sunset and left quickly, both of us feeling like we walked right into a tourist trap. Bottom line is, if you’re looking for a nice experience opt for a Rooftop bar with some class like the Tivoli or The V, the Mundial is a low class, low quality factory to scam tourists who don’t...
Read moreI am utterly disappointed at my experience here. My friend and I were the only ones waiting for a table until more people came to form a line after 20 minutes of just us waiting alone. While we waited 30 minutes, we were told by the employees to wait until people leave as they are at full capacity. After multiple people left, we were excited we were going to be seated. However, this female worker came and looked me up and down and said "you don't look like you're staying at this hotel and we are only serving hotel guests tonight". I was in shock because no one mentioned they're only seating hotel guests during our entire time waiting. On top of that, guests who we met in the elevator that were just at the rooftop bar told us they didn't ask them if they were hotel guests and were able to enter and stay for drinks. I also turned around and saw them letting everyone else in without asking if they were guests.
I feel discriminated based on the way I dressed/looked. Everyone else was white and older (50+ year old). My friend and I both look young and are in our 20-30s. I let the hotel reception know about my experience and they were surprised the rooftop employees told us that because they even said "they said that to you??". Then they said, the rooftop bar does prioritize hotel guests. I said that's no issue, the issue is the fact they told us we'd get a table while we were waiting but decided to tell us we have to leave when it was our turn to be seated while assuming I wasn't a hotel guest. Read moreWent to this rooftop bar on 7/4 at 7 PM with my wife for our 1 night without kids- view was great and it was a busy time. all the tables were full. Was told by everyone if a table becomes free we can take it. Waited by the bar for an hour, and a table next to me was leaving. Once they left i took the table. Aggressively one of the male servers come with 3 guests (table only fits 2) clears it and says i cant sit there. He tried to take my drink and i move it away from him. He said his manager told him take the seat. We go back and forth for a minute and i didnt want to create a scene as people are watching so i let him have it. No apology from waiter or Manager. My evening was ruined at that point. I was furious how it was handled. Manager never approached me, so i went to him. He says he told the waiter to take the table. Wasnt even sorry about it. We decided to leave for better service and respect. This roof bar gives preferential treatment to locals. don't waste your money here if they cannot respect their own rules. I work in hospitality and this is disgusting service. Manager need to be replaced...
