Nice room decor though a little smaller than expected but has a good sized shower. Bed is also pretty good, found it very comfy. Room can get quite stuffy if the window is shut and leaving it open on a night is a no no unless you have ear plugs as you are situated right in front of the square where buses and trams run almost all night. After day 2 i did mention that the stuffy warm room was an issue and was told as it is not the summer season air-con wasn't on. They they switched it on in our room which made for a better nights sleep.
Storage felt to be lacking as there was only one shelf which was at least 7 foot high! Short people will struggle with this!
You only receive coffee pod, tea and water your first night but no milk? After that you have to pay if you want anymore. This i find strange, especially for a 4 star hotel! Why is it that someone who stays one week is penalised over someone who stays one night? Now, for me it's the little things that make the going away enjoyable, and pretty much every hotel I have ever stayed in has provided tea, coffee water and milk (usually the small UHT pods) every day.
Breakfast was hit and (mostly) miss for us. You basically find an available table and then go help yourself which is fine. Problem was, a few days we struggled to find a table and on Saturday we had to wait about 10 mins for a table to be cleared. Granted, we have since been told that on this day there were only 3 members of staff on and over 100 guests so you can imagine how busy it was. That being said, the tutting and eye rolling when I took it upon myself to clear a table was a little rude but by this point I didnt care. Also, you want a hot drink with that beakfast, well good luck! Apart from our second to last day we got our drinks either halfway through eating or after you'd finished! This could be improved if when coming to breakfast you go to the front desk, provide room No (as requested) and then take you to a table and ask for a...
Read moreNicely decorated hotel but let down on arrival by the distinct budget feel to all the finishing touches. No drinks provided other than 2 herbal teabags & a couple of instant granule coffee sachets on first night only - no black tea, no milk in the room, no sugar. There is a coffee pod machine but zero coffee pods..the lady at reception said they cost 1 euro each from reception if you want them. The cups are cardboard. No teaspoons. The water in the fridge is accompanied by a price list, not included in your room rate. On the last day didn't even have the cardboard cups. Asked about the water/drink situation and told drinks are only available first night which is ridiculous as paying for 7 nights same room rate per night, which was not cheap at over £80/night...why should that be any different to someone staying for one night? No towel rail and not much space to put your belongings and clothes/cases as the furniture is very narrow due to the small room sizes. There were bathrobes in the room on the first night but we noticed these disappeared 2nd night never to be seen again. At the time of booking the Agoda advert said it was the superior double, but on arrival we told there is only 2 of these in the hotel and they were not available. We had booked ahead and emailed twice asking for certain standards to be met but none of these had been addressed and we just felt our room is bog standard economy. There was a single bath cap but we had booked the room for 2 people?! There was no bathcap/vanity kit the last 3 days of 7. The room is very noisy because of the constant trams and street works. Breakfast was nice but we had to wait 10 minutes for a table on our fourth day. Tea and coffee is offered at the end of breakfast if you are lucky. The 2 stars is for the design/decor. Lucky to get toilet roll in your room rate in this place. Next time we will book with an independent hotel for a...
Read moreThe hotel is well situated in central Lisbon and in easy walking distance of restaurants, bars and the main sights. There is a bus/tram stop outside the hotel and a taxi rank opposite. If we weren’t walking we used an Uber.||Hotel was booked direct and we also opted for the airport transfer. Not the cheapest way to get to the hotel but very easy when new to the area. Check in was straightforward and we were given vouchers for complementary drinks and discount off food at the restaurant. The hotel entrance was chaotic at times as reception, the bar and restaurant are all in close proximity of each other it would have been better for us if there was a larger public area in the hotel. . Room was comfortable and had the basics with no frills. We were on the top floor overlooking the side street. This did get noisy in the mornings so not possible to have the window open. Good walk in shower.||Breakfast choice was fine. Some of the cooked food on the buffet was warm as opposed to hot, an order for poached eggs had to be requested more than once and some coffee options on the self service machine were unavailable for consecutive days. ||Bar was well stocked though staff not always prompt on taking orders - at times it felt we were invisible! We ate only once at the Italian restaurant and had a most enjoyable meal. The pizza was particularly good. The restaurant could consider replacing the menus as they were very shabby.||Despite the minor points above we would stay here again if in Lisbon.||The Italian restaurant which is part...
