We visited this burger place twice during our trip—unfortunately, both experiences were underwhelming. On our first visit, we arrived to find plenty of empty tables, but no staff acknowledged us. We waited for some time at the front before we finally stopped someone, only to be told it was going to be a 45 minute wait.

We decided to give it another chance the next day, and to be fair, the new server who greeted us was more friendly and welcoming, which gave us some hope.

However, the main issue came with the food. We were asked how we wanted our burgers cooked (well-done or medium-rare), which we appreciated—but what we received was neither. Both of the burgers had parts that were completely raw in the middle. We even cut it open and left it visibly on the plate to show how undercooked it was, hoping a server might notice. But no one checked on us throughout the meal. Even though the server walked past our table several times. When someone finally came by—only after we had finished—and we brought it up, we were told we should’ve said something sooner.

Why ask for doneness if it’s not going to be respected? And more importantly, why is there no basic follow-up to ensure the food is acceptable? As travelers, we didn’t want to take any risks with raw ground beef, and the lack of attention from staff was disappointing. They offered us an espresso as a gesture, but it didn’t come close to making up for the experience.

We had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, we can’t recommend it based on what we...

Arrived a few minutes after opening and was seated at the last table available.

After taking our order and non-alcoholic drinks a few minutes into service, we waited as we saw every other order come out. We eventually noticed that others sat after us had also been served as well. After making eye contact with staff repeatedly, they eventually noticed we hadnt been served and said there was a "machine error".

Finally after receiving our 1427, Imperador, fries, and cucumber lemonade, unfortunately the lemonade was by far the best of the bunch.

The burgers were incredibly salty, were drenched in sauce (even after wiping most of it from the bun), and nothing special at all.

Based on the rave reviews, I suppose people enjoy burgers where you cannot even taste the meat. I assume they use low quality meat and over-compensate with extra salt and sauce. Which is a shame when there is so much access to fresh, quality beef in the Azores.

We consumed countless burgers on our 10-day trip and Suplexio's were the worst of them all. Thankfully the cucumber lemonade that took 30 minutes to prepare was extremely good, or the meal would have been a total loss.

Lastly, the music was pretty loud in such a small space...

I was super excited to eat here as the food was described as some of the best in Sao Miguel. We came here 6 minutes after opening, and had an hour wait long. It’s not an issue of course, so we waited, and when seated, I was told the chicken patties were unavailable. Keep in mind I came 6 minutes after opening. Everything is passable, I’m not going to complain over how busy the restaurant is, I am happy for their success. My friend got the beef burgers, and it came out cold in the centre and practically raw. He had to wait 10 minutes before any waiter paid any attention, and when assisted, the waiter had an uninviting tone and tried ensuring our friend that thats how it is when the food literally came out cold. The appetizers all tasted like freezer foods, the fries were miserable, and the overall experience was very disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend this place to people like me, a tourist from America with a very high patience and understanding for the service industry. This is my first review ever on google as even in my worst experiences, I am understanding and just take the loss of money. But this...

I'm always on the hunt for a special burger and i have been to many Restaurants that claimed to make the best burger anywhere. Supléxio is definitely worth a visit, it's a very fine burger, quite firm and nothing is falling apart and it's still not dry. This is not easy to achieve, so kudos! The sauces are delicious and the buns are also absolutely fine. However, we got asked how we wanted our patty and we both went for medium. What we got was close to raw which was still edible but just a bit too...primal. The fried egg on my Special couldve used some seasoning (same as the fries but i think this is azorean style, they weren't seasoned anywhere) We did see other people with the same kind of patty and we also saw people with patties that were well done. Just be prepared for that, if you don't want your patty almost raw you should probably go for well done. Like i said, still edible and the quality of the meat was great, so overall not a tragedy. It did sour the experience slightly though. Good Burger, nice people, exceptional lemonade. Can recommend!

Great hamburger place. It's very small inside, so people were queueing before it opened at 7pm on Saturday. We barely managed to get a table but it was worth being so petty. Other people had to wait 45 minutes for the first tables to clear. We had 4 Açores Especial beers (€1.25 per bottle, 250cl) and two burgers (the "Embaixador" and the "1427" both equipped with the "sweet potato fries" upgrade) and paid under €20 for the whole experience. Both burgers were absolutely amazing. The sweet potato fries were more like crisps/chips, which was also very good except for it's hard to reach the bottom of the aioli shot glass. They also have vegetarian burgers. For your convenience, I included some (shoddy) photos of the menu and opening times. Service was good but while we came in prepared and ready to order, taking order was triaged by order of entry. I'd go here again but only if I knew I could just walk in and order a burger, so maybe not on a Saturday. Life's short and I am hangry.
