Food overall was amazing. The ceviche with labneh and raspberries was the best one I’ve ever tasted (and I ate a lot of ceviches before). It was the perfect harmony between texture and flavor. Sweet, acidic, soft and crunchy and creamy🤤🤤🤤. It was such a smart move to add the crunchy corn on top. Bravo, chef!!!! I love the cod. However, I was expecting a bit more flavors. The side dish (potatoes and cabbage) didn’t really go that well with the cod imo. I love the flavor of the cabbage though. Smokey and spicey. I wish the cod follow that same flavor profile. For dessert, I got this amazing green apple and lime sorbet on top of chocolate brownie. The sorbet was so good 😍 I would buy that as a dessert alone. Very interesting flavor. However, I don’t think it went well with the brownie. Maybe if you change to orange or orange blossom it would be much better to go with the brownie Overall, I love the sea menu. I get to try things that I usually don’t go for. Plus, the service is very professional and friendly. The ambience of the restaurant can be improved. There was no music, and I find it’s too bright for this kind of restaurant. I wish they create a warmer and cozier...
Read moreWhen visit Escama, be ready to be extremely(!) judged by your drink choice. Judged so much, that sommelier rolled her eyes so much, said that “she is not sure that she can find sth for us or advise”. You may ask why? Because we wanted to try Portwine:) She offered us appetitive, but we wanted to try port wine; so we really had to have arguments why we want this drink and not just wine. After this extremely uncomfortable conversation, I had anxiety attack. As we finally ordered port wine, we decided not to have dinner, because of things described above. Cherry on top: they asked us then to move to the bar:) because we are taking table from people who would like to have a proper dinner Wow
We asked bill(they never brought us portwine); they said it is fine we can leave
And I am not even describing what was happening with sommelier after she took our order. The manager, servers, sommeliers, all of them were discussing us… it is not a shame for us, but a big...
Read moreNice Servers but there seems to be a problem in the kitchen
I have celiac so we went there because they advertise gluten free items on their menu
We asked if the tasting menu was also gluten free and were assured by the server it could be made GF he would tell the kitchen
However out of the 4 courses every single one of them contained gluten
We first noticed when bread was delivered as part of the first 2 courses, and both times reminded them of the severe allergy. The 3rd course was the literally the only fish on the menu containing gluten instead of the 2 gluten free ones, and the desert was a brownie. All gluten
Now unfortunately I’m extremely sick… it will take a couple of months before I’m healed (really)
Considering we spent €100 per person and asked multiple times, I would have expected the kitchen to be more professional
Ok food but do NOT go if anyone in your group has an allergy … unless you want to add a trip to the hospital to your...
