The menu is thoughtfully curated, offering a blend of innovative tapas and refined dishes that highlight high-quality ingredients. I had the Flambeed Shrimps and the Duck “Mushroom” dish, and both were nothing short of exceptional. The shrimps were cooked to perfection, with a subtle smokiness from the flambé that enhanced their natural sweetness. Meanwhile, the duck dish was a true standout—tender, flavorful, and beautifully complemented by the rich, earthy notes of mushrooms. Every bite was a perfect balance of textures and flavors.

Beyond the outstanding food, the service was impeccable. The staff was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and happy to offer wine pairings that perfectly matched the dishes. Their enthusiasm and attentiveness elevated the experience, making us feel truly welcomed and valued.

Absolutely outstanding restaurant, surprising on every step. Kind and competent staff, respecting every rules of etiquette and yet confident about the quality and service.

Tasting menu of six dishes on amazingly high level. The dishes are creating a story not only containing the taste, but also introducing the guest to different and quite surprising textures and compositions. Going through the dishes, the level remains really high. Everything on the plate has a good reason to be there and be part of the event. Waiters are explaining every dish, which make the guest waiting to explore it even more.

The wine selection is simply unbelievable. Over 30 pages pages of complete wine menu, containing best quality local wines from Romania and best well-known wines from around the world. Perfect quality glasses and all the equipement for wine decanting and service. Morover, they offer wine tasting menu, a small travel around the wine of some wineries around the world. I chose Tenuta San Guido, perfect as always.

Serving always perfectly on time, not disturbing, just keeping eye on the table. Never empty glass, never too much waiting, never too much/too less talk. Everything on the spot.

This is a must visit in Cluj-Napoca. Prices are very acurate to the service. The place also had live music sometimes, after the dinner definitely worth to try some cigars. I had one of my favourites - Romeo y Julieta, paired with nice Cognac.

We had an exceptional dining experience at Kupaj, thanks to the incredible service team of Malina and Stefan. From the start, it was clear that their partnership brought something truly special to the table — a seamless, elevated level of service you simply don’t find at most restaurants.

Malina was extremely caring and deeply knowledgeable about the menu, offering thoughtful and personalized recommendations that guided us to some truly unforgettable dishes particularly with wine . Meanwhile, Stefan brought his own unique touch to the experience. Her suggestions for pairings were not only spot-on, but they enhanced each course beautifully.

What truly set them apart was the way they worked together — a perfect balance of insight, hospitality, and attention to detail. When our dishes arrived, they took the time to explain every component on the plate and how it was prepared, adding an extra layer of appreciation to an already exquisite meal.

Kupaj is fortunate to have such a dynamic duo on the floor. We’ll absolutely be returning — not only for the food, but for the exceptional service that made the evening unforgettable.
