On a rainy day and staying at the hotel we decided to give the restaurant a shot. What a mistake it was. The interior is very basic, and the two waitresses that served us we're really nice, despite the fact that one of them constantly tried to speak German to us ;) We ordered the local cold cuts/local cheeses platter, a vegan salad and a Ceasars salad with chicken. Since the place has grill in it's name I expected some freshly grilled chicken on my salad. No such thing. The chicken was at best room temperature/coldish. Furthermore, the ceasar sauce was more like soup, and incredibly sour. Same for the cold quail eggs - sour as hell. I thought quail should taste like chicken eggs just smaller. But definitely not sour. And then comes the parmesan chips. Definitely not freshly made to order. Stale and hard to chew. Yuck. The vegan salad was also predominantly sour. I wonder does the staff taste the food before sending it out? The cold cuts/cheeses were probably best as I assume not made on spot. Generally I would avoid this place at all costs if I was you. Unless the real meat options are good then give it a go. But...
Read moreWe never rarely eat at hotels restaurants as quality is often quite average. This time we decided to make an exception as our 1 year old was starving and it was late. Well let’s just say it was the wrong choice. The food quality is quite poor. The chicken was ok, the sea bass so super super salty and the gnocchi quite tasteless. 2 stars as the service was fast, they had a kids menus and a high chair but the rest wasn’t great. They charged us for a kids menu (3 courses) while we had only one course of the menu and we told them we did not want the rest when ordering. So we end up paying 9€ for a kids portion of gnocchi. We had another issue with the bill, if you stay at the hotel they give you a 5€ voucher for dining, we forgot to show our 5€ discount voucher from the hotel when drafting the bill and they refused to add after even if the charge was on the room so no transaction was processed. Their excuse was “use it next time” … let’s just say we are clearly not going back...
Read moreWe were about to go to another restaurant but it was too far and we decided to compromise and get to the nearest. Stuff was nice and friendly. We got table quickly as we are traveling off season. Then the wine was served that was worth to be put in the sewage… but the waitress convinced us that it will be better with food. Spoiler: it didn’t … Lamb and trout were ok but definitely not with that high price tag. And I love to pay expensive for my food (don’t tell my spouse)! The rest of the food was just not eatable. It’s an insult for the ingredients… The point is that we had three whole plates untouched and nobody asked us about it. Which is minimum for service … We were charged 3 € for simple tap water… In conclusion, that is definitely ONCE IN A LIFE TIME EXPERIENCE, I guess its business plan is based on one time costumes and expensive menu, other ways I can’t understand how it still able to exist. Always view...
