What a great little place with great staff and food to match.
We were walking past waiting for our boat ride and thought to drop in to try out some local treats. Located right on the river with a great location just down from the three bridges we were welcomed by our friendly and welcoming host.
The place has ample seating both inside and out with a modern yet rustic feel. With well positioned heating it was warm both inside and out, with stool and table combinations of two to ten seats arranged well for distancing groups but still keeping it warm and communal.
We discussed we were after a snack and some drinks. We were recommended the number of platters available and chose the Slovenian Sample platter (medium) it comes in small, medium and large. We ordered the mulled mine (red) and the white and dark hot chocolate’s.
Wow for the freshness and flavour. The cheeses, meats, olives and pickled peppers were a great match to the hot bread basket and spreads this platter offered. Nothing was left on the plate nor in our mugs and glasses.
The only negative I had was the price compared to other venues and the region in general was high but this was countered by the view, service, location and the freshness and flavour of the meal itself.
A very worthwhile stop when you’re in Ljubljana! Thank you to the blonde guy that served us,...
Read moreWe enjoyed a delicious dinner at Ala Pršuterija, a cozy restaurant perfectly situated in the heart of Ljubljana’s old town, right along the Ljubljanica River. The location couldn’t be more picturesque—cobblestone streets, historic buildings, and the gentle flow of the river just steps away.
The service was friendly, though a bit slow, even though the restaurant wasn’t full when we arrived. We ordered the Slovenian Board Premium, a generous cheese and prosciutto platter that was more than enough for two and delightful in taste. To accompany the meal, we sipped on excellent local beer and red wine.
The outdoor terrace was charming, and we were lucky to get a table right by the riverbank. The ambiance of the entire area, with softly lit terraces and the buzz of nearby restaurants, added to the magic of the evening.
For a quality dinner for two in the very center of Ljubljana, the price was surprisingly reasonable given the standard and location. We can warmly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a relaxed and tasty dining experience...
Read moreHrvatski or Dalmatian prosciutto was of the worst quality, if it was Croatian at all . Olives were the cheapest stuff from can. Wine "good" for the tourist traps "restaurants" along Ljubljanica river.
The woman who introduce herself as a head waiter and outside manager shared her attitude problems with the customers very much "big time", rigid and deliberately unfriendly. From the first sec in the restaurant till the last she did her best for me and number of another clients to feel unpleasant. She deliveres the order, food with "here you go" 😂 (adequate for the life sentence prisoner in Alcatraz). All in all service was pathetic. If I need this kind of "Auschwitz" service I'll ask for her exclusively.
As a consequence I will never visit this restaurant again and working in management in tourism industry I will recommend it to no-one.
All in all, so called Slovenian Hiša just a tourist trap, just like very much most of along Ljubljanica river. Food quality, drinks quality, waitressesing just junk. Avoid...
