Review of Pritličje – Restaurant/Bar
I rarely write negative reviews, but my recent experience at Pritličje was so disappointing that I feel obliged to share it. Unfortunately, this establishment fails on almost every basic level – cleanliness, service, and food quality.
I was sitting outside on the terrace, which should normally be the more pleasant option. However, even there the ambience felt unhygienic. The tables were dirty and sticky, the chairs clearly hadn’t been cleaned for a long time, and the entire outdoor area looked neglected. For a popular central spot, this was both surprising and unacceptable.
The service was a complete disaster. I ordered a bottle of wine, only to be served an already opened one, without any explanation. When I pointed this out, the server simply brushed it off and acted as if nothing was wrong. Even worse, at one point they started shouting at a French guest on the terrace in a very disrespectful way. Instead of apologizing or trying to improve the situation, they simply ignored me and carried on. This level of unprofessionalism is simply shocking.
As for the food, the pizzette were absolutely terrible – tasteless, artificial, and lacking any freshness. They felt like something straight from a freezer, reheated and thrown on a plate without any care. Considering the price, I expected at least something decent, but what I got was a soulless and flavorless product.
In short, I cannot recommend Pritličje to anyone. The terrace is dirty, the staff is rude and careless, and the food is one of the worst I’ve had in the city. There are plenty of other places nearby that actually respect their customers – this is definitely not...
Read moreOne of my favorites spots when I visited Ljubljana. They have a great variety of beers available, but definitely make sure to try the medic which is a honey liquor that's popular around central / eastern Europe and one of the smoothest drinks you'll have. Definitely a tale of two restaurants - the front is a very nice, almost contemporary looking space, while the back (pictured) has a decidedly industrial vibe and is almost cave-like in its dimensions and vibe.
I only had drinks here, left to get food but came back immediate right after. If I had known about this place earlier, I definitely would have made a point to visit it regularly. It sits in the nice part of Ljubljana (if you visit you'll find there's a really nice area right around the castle, then about three blocks out it's more hit or miss) and is within walking distance of just about everything you'd want to visit during a brief stay here (with the exception of Lake Bled which is also excellent.)
Truly impressed with this bar and could not recommend it enough, regardless of the duration of your stay...
Read moreOne of my WORST ever experiences in a bar. We stopped here for some food and drinks which were quite nice when we eventually did get them. It was impossible to get the server to take our order and whenever they did interact with us, all 3 servers had a sour attitude towards us. We waited over 30 minutes for simple small pizzas when other tables were getting their food much quicker. When we moved inside I tried to order at the bar and was told to sit down and wait for a server. However I waited 20 minutes and no server came to take our order so we left just as I seen other people getting served from the bar. When trying to get the bill the server ignored us repeatedly, we could see other tables were also having the same problem. I understand it can be hard to get the right amount of staff on at all times however that does not mean the servers can act with such a negativity...
