Italian restaurant Mirje — Restaurant in Upravna Enota Ljubljana

I can't speak highly enough about this restaurant! We are staying at the Old Tabacco Factory right across the street. We went over for a pizza, thinking we'd just grab a quick bite to eat and it turned in to such a great experience! The restaurant itself is beautiful, very clean, great decor and has a special ambiance! The staff, especially Ines, were so friendly, spoke perfect English, went out of their way to make us feel welcome. And the food... oh my goodness... the food was amazing! The gnocchi is to die gnocchi for! Have never had better in my life and I love gnocchi! The owner, Mitja, and Ines gave us great insights on were to go around Slovenia not just the tourist traps! This is a MUST EAT AT restaurant if you are in Ljubljana! 15 minute walk from the city center and totally worth it! It will be hard to top this dining experience during our stay...

We had an absolutely delightful family meal at Mirje Italian restaurant in Ljubljana, and I can't recommend it highly enough! From the outside, the building might not reveal the gem hidden within, but stepping inside, you're greeted by a beautifully designed and inviting atmosphere. The professional and attentive staff made us feel right at home. We ordered a variety of dishes, and each one was exceptional. The Risotto with shrimps was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor, the chicken salad was fresh and satisfying, the carbonara was rich and creamy, and the Margherita pizza was simply divine – a true taste of Italy. They redecorated the place some time ago. I still remember it as this cosy place where you could get a really good meal on the student's coupons. Now it has gotten a bit fancy but they did keep a few of the crowd pleasers that you can still get if you have the coupons (you will not be able to find them browsing their website though so don't bother). The rest of the menu was upgraded with the interior. The items are more selected. The taste is definitely better but the prices are also considerably higher (as far as I remember). Staff is nice and there is always enough of them around so the service is super quick and hustle free.
