I was thoroughly disappointed by the service at this cocktail bar. I called three days in advance to make a reservation because I know they are tight with space and friends were visiting from out of town who had wanted to try ‘the best cocktails in town’. I specifically asked for a table outside. When I showed up with my friends all the tables outside were taken, their response was that all the tables inside were free (not reserved -just happened to be free) and that they did not get the memo that I wanted a table outside - no apologies. We did not want to sit inside on a hot summer evening, so we stepped outside to wait for the rest of our party and decide what we should do. After 20 minutes a waiter came out and set up an additional table that was half on the sidewalk and half down the hill. Because we were out of options, we ended up sitting there uncomfortably while they seated guests that came later at the normal tables (we were told we would get a table when someone left).

The cons: The organization (the reservation process, the way they 'solved' the issue and other issues (e.g. there was a man and a woman doing god knows what in the only men's toilet for a good period of time while people waited outside - the staff did nothing about it)) The drinks are overpriced and keep getting pricier The non alcoholic options are lacking (two mocktail options (priced 13€!!!) and the staff not being allowed to bring you more than a small glass of water)

As someone who pretentiously declares themselves an amateur mixologist, my experience with European cocktails was very disappointing. Indeed, most of the "cocktails" I've encountered here are bartenders faithfully following an online recipe (which isn't bad in itself, but leaves you wanting more). However, in the three hours I spent here, it was very, very clear that this place was here for a certain type of business, and that business was to make the best damn cocktail you've had on this continent. The female bartender on duty made drinks with supreme confidence, and assurance that this drink was going to be worth the extensive wait it took - and indeed, it was, and then some. This is not a dive bar that serves JD&Coke; this is a place that takes pride in mixing drinks into an experience unlike any you've had before. I highly recommend that those who desire complex drinks come here. That said, it's not for everyone. If you're by yourself or with one other, keen to get plastered, this is not an efficient use of your time.
