Borderline Terrible.
Yet another indian restaurant that has taken it too easy by hiding behind the name indian food has globally.
Despite how i start out my review i could personally say there is potential. It seems that the soul was sucked out of this restaurant.
Starting with the service, The front of the house seem like either their hungover or too tired to even exchange pleasantaries with incoming guests. They also seem to jump in too early asking people if they have made a decision on what they want to eat. Being part of a city with such walking traffic i think it is bad to assume that most of the people who have come to your restaurant done their reasearch and are ready with what they want to eat.
Speaking of making a decision, their menu is filled with a lot of dishes. It is obvious why people are unable to make a choice. Consider also separating your food and drinks menu. Helps people making a choice on what they want to drink and eat separately.
Linked with the big menu of yours, is the sole problem with your food. The lack of depth in flavor, diluted gravies and or over salted food. It seems like you have two chefs one who knows where the salt is and another who doesnt. I recieved dishes that were a mix. The one who knows there is salt is generous with it. Shorten the menu down and actually focus on putting good fresh indian food. I am sure people would appreciate it, if there are less items but variety for vegan and vegeterian people. Keep it simple silly. Including some preferential options it could really become a strong menu.
With slight push this restaurant is capable of outdoing all the restaurants around it. But it seems they have taken it...
Read moreThey serve Rudeness and Impoliteness, NOT FOOD! I wish I could give it ZERO STARS and negative if there was an option to rate the behaviour with customers. The owner or whoever the lady is actually told us that “this is the way we cook in Slovenia and we don’t eat salty food. You don’t like it is your problem not ours.” That for me is insulting not only as a customer but also as an Indian because we happen to boast of one the most delicious cuisines in the World! So, Ma’am, have some shame and courtesy to not say this to an Indian while running an Indian restaurant. We don’t expect exact taste as we get back in India but if we expect adequate salt, properly cooked food and a couple of kind words, we think that’s not too much to ask. There’s an Indian guy who waits the tables and he has learnt to be rude from her extremely well; thanks for not helping out, Sir! The food was downright pathetic. Ordered Shorba or Soup which said it was Tomato with Tulsi (Indian Basil). What we got was a horribly mixed watery portion of tomatoes and Curry leaves, NOT Tusli! The worst part is they shamelessly accept its not tulsi while mentioning it on the menu. Then it was time to get our taste buds destroyed with starters; the Onion Bhajia was undercooked and had NO SALT. We thought the main course would be better and how wrong were we! The Aloo paratha again had NO SALT. The worse was yet to come though; the vegetable Biryani was a SUPER TANGY AND SOUR mix of tomato and rice. Please do not visit this place; they don’t know what Indian food is and they’re just insulting it...
Read moreService: There were two waitresses, a younger, friendly and professional one who deserves a 5 star rating and an older lady who seems to be unhappy to have to work this, or probably any, job. Very unpleasant person, not welcoming or friendly at all, partially babbling away in Slovenian so guests don't understand whatever she has to say. This person should not work with people, especially not in the service industry.
Food: Based on most reviews, it should be good, except it isn't. What happened, did the chef go on vacation and prepared two weeks worth of food that they are now microwaving? It was absolutely revolting. Good is the naan bread and the lassi - that's the end of it, i had Lamb Korma as a main dish and it was inedible. The curry was a slimey, tasteless mess. I barely touched it. Completely bland, no flavour whatsoever, not even of cream or cashews, the supposed main ingredients. Priced at 20 euro, this is unacceptable. Especially for Slovenian price standards, where you would expect and extraordinary tasty dish for this amount of money. You can eat better for less in pricier countries and of course in Slovenia.
Summary: This restaurant would make a good Kitchen Nightmares episode, if you happen to know that show. The unfriendly staff lady needs to be fired and the chef probably too. If he was actually cooking today.
I've never been to prison but if they served this food in prison, there would...
