Deungchon Shabu Kalguksu Myeongdong — Restaurant in Seoul

Food is good but more importantly, the excellent customer service we received from Staff Jong In and Staff Jin Young is why I am giving 5 stars for my review. We are tourists from Singapore thus we did not have a local number to register for a queue number. Jong In was flexible in handling our needs and after explaining the situation to us, he told us to sit at the waiting area near him so that he could alert us when it was our turn. This small gesture gave us some assurance that we would not be forgotten. After a short wait, we got a seat but the table wasn't cleared and cleaned properly so he helped to clean up quickly. When we were ready to place our orders, staff Jin Young came. Seeing that we weren't familiar with the menu, he took the initiative to recommend us the portions which we could have. He also explained the steps patiently to us. In addition, I noticed that Staff Jin Young kept a look out on us if we were ready for their signature fried rice. In conclusion, both Staff Jong In and Staff Jin Young gave their best in their job as well as great customer service despite the fact that they were really busy. They are gems...

We were recommended this place from our sales associate after we went to pick up our glasses from Davich Optical around the corner. She said it’s one of their favorites and only a 10 minute walk away.

It definitely surpassed our expectations. We got the mushroom and watercress hot pot and it came with kalguksu and fried rice at the end. The broth was really tasty with garlic and pepper. The meat was very tasty, and the kalguksu was a really great way to end the hot pot portion of the meal. The broth had become even more flavorful after the meat cooked. The mandu was also tender and flavorful....

Perfected shabu shabu! Definitely worth a stop, especially if you’re a foreigner!

This place has no frills for their hot pot and shabu shabu, but they focus on quality of ingredients. Agreed, healthy alternative for the area. If you’re a big fan of kimchi, I would highly recommend checking this place also!

On the second floor, this hidden gem in such a touristy spot definitely is worthy of a visit! Broth was delicious, the meat and the vegetables were very high-quality compared to other competitors around the area, and if you didn’t expect it, it also comes with a fried rice at the end...
