Sadly, I have to rate they with 3 stars. The positive feedback: The food is great and with a good price-quality ratio. It's inside of the "buildings' block" surrounded by a garden. They have indoors and outdoors tables. The staff is kind, but and here comes the negative feedback: We ordered the Khachapuri with a dressing/sauce named Rincon (or something like that) on the side as starters. For the main dish, my friend ordered a pork BBQ, and I something vegetarian called Rincon Special (can recall the names properly). Which was basically bbq cold veggies. We got all the food but my main dish. So, I waited a bit. After a while, I went to the waiter (who didn't speak Spanish, but that's OK for me) and asked him about my order. His expression of being completely lost was priceless. He said to me that kitchen was closed but that he would ask. I went to my table, he came back and with a petty smile say the kitchen was definitely closed. With soft skills and emphaty (cause I have worked in customer service for many years) I asked him if at least he could bring me a Baklava. He said he would ask only to return for saying that it was impossible to serve a Baklava: which to be honest, it's usually done and in a tray. So the only thing you need to do is serve it into a plate. He apologized (ok) but didn't offer anything in return (not before, not even when the dessert was been denied). To make things worse, his boss or the restaurant's owner (an older man) came with the ticket, and my main dish was being charged. Good thing we checked the ticket. We told him that the dish never arrived our table. He left without saying a word, came back with the correct ticket and apologized (ok) but didn't offer anything: say a chupito at least, or another drink. So yeah. 3 stars, and that's a lot to be honest. I...

On a recent visit to Playa de Las Americas in Tenerife, I had the pleasure of dining at "Restaurante Rincón Armenio," a charming spot offering Armenian cuisine. The experience was a delightful exploration of flavors, offering great value for money.
The Gastronomic Journey
The meal commenced with Blinchiki as a starter. This dish was an absolute treat, featuring a delicate, crepe-like exterior filled with a savory mixture. The balance of textures and flavors was impeccable, making it a memorable start to the meal.
For the main course, I indulged in the Khorovats, a traditional Armenian barbecue dish. The meat was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful. However, the dish came with fewer potatoes than expected, which was a slight letdown for those who enjoy a hearty side. Nonetheless, the quality of the meat was outstanding and made up for this minor shortfall.
Service and Pricing
The service was quick, ensuring that the food arrived promptly. While the staff efficiency was commendable, the friendliness was somewhat mediocre, lacking the warmth typically associated with smaller, ethnic restaurants.
One of the most impressive aspects of Rincón Armenio was the pricing. The dishes were very affordable, making this restaurant an excellent choice for those seeking good value without compromising on quality.
Overall Impression
Restaurante Rincón Armenio in Playa de Las Americas is a hidden gem for anyone looking to experience authentic Armenian cuisine. The Blinchiki was a standout, and the Khorovats, despite its slight shortfall in sides, was delicious. Coupled with its affordable pricing, this restaurant offers a culinary experience that's worth more than its cost. A definite recommendation for those...
Read moreWe were excited to try this restaurant after seeing the reviews & photos.
On arrival, it became clear there may be a language barrier. Not a problem, we were shortly shown to a table.
Despite pointing to each item on the menu and holding up numbers of fingers (!) whilst placing our order, there seemed to be a lot of confusion.
Our main meal arrived - one plate of chicken each. Nothing else. We played a game of charades to get the menu back and point to what we'd ordered (2 x chicken with salad and potatoes), yet this made no difference.
After various (frustrating) attempts at rectifying this, some potato & salad arrived about 20 minutes later. We had eaten half of the chicken (believing that's all we were going to get!). The remainder of the chicken was undercooked, so we left it.
The food was average, nothing to get excited about. We found the chicken breast to be pleasant enough, but the meal was ruined by the absence of accompaniments.
Unsurprisingly, when the bill arrived, we had been charged separately for the side orders. Another game of charades to put that right.
I feel nothing but envy when I look at the 5* reviews and photos. Our experience was nothing in comparison. And we are not sure why it was...
