We love Tenerife but I’m not going to lie. We find it hard to find good uptown classy restaurants that serve GOOD food. 90% of everything on the island is cheap & it shows it in the quality. So for my partner’s birthday after really trying to find a nice swanky restaurant to take her out to, I came across ‘The Bank’. From start to finish it was top. Our server/waiter was brilliant. I got an angus new your strip 750g costing €8.80 per 100g and my partner got a rump steak. For sides we got macaroni cheese, some thick cut fries & dauphinoise potatoes. I asked for medium well even for it was suggested to me that rare is better but I’m not a fan of the blood lol. However my steak still come out bloody as you can see. My waiter was such a nice guy and was attending to our every need I really didn’t want to bother him and tell him this steak isn’t how I like it. But he noticed me straight away talking to my partner and he came over to ask if everything is okay he looked at the steak and straight away said you want it cooked more than this I did say it was fine and I will try it how the chef recommended it and he said “no you’ll get it how you like it” this guy was brilliant. At this point I already shared out the sides on to our plates and had a bit of everything on the plate all the sides and the steak of course. I was thinking what’s he gonna do with the sides. With it 3-4 mins he came back out with my steak looking more how I like it. It was cooked more much less blood. Just how i wanted it & on top of that he brang out fresh sides after my partner already had half on her plate he brang us out fresh sides anyway so now we had extra sides. And everything was top notch. Steak was cooked well, brilliant quality, the potatoes & mac and cheese omg. They was unreal. The chips were good too. This was a real fine dinning experience we loved every second of it. The food was 10 the service was 10 we got a nice sea outside the sun was setting it was perfect. It’s not the cheapest but you get what you pay for in terms of food quality & service. A real fine dinning experience. Oh yeah I almost forgot. The desserts were just as good THE BEST LEMON MERINGUE IVE EVER HAD. Keep it up guys. Brilliant.

Read moreVery disappointing and wouldn’t return. The food was very nice and would have got 5 stars if it was slightly cheaper. If your used to eating in Toby carvery’s, harvesters back home (nothing wrong with these I have eaten at them many times but also in very high end eateries) and you came here as a treat (it’s pricey) then you will probably think it’s fancy and posh and have a nice dinner however if you are used to eating at nice establishments and are happy to pay a high price aslong as you get good food and excellent customer service then you will be disappointed in this place. I asked a different waiter for some bread for the table as I couldn’t see our waiter but she wasn’t happy I asked her and said she would get our waiter I wasn’t aware that we could only order from him and he had other tables to attend to so was busy. The waiter who served us was nice he was chatty and happy he took our ordered repeated it back but still missed off two lots of chips not a problem for us I just got the attention of a waiter and requested the missing chips however it seemed to be a big issue to her she said let me check she came back and said no you didn’t order them you only ordered one I said we didn’t and our waiter repeated the order back but it’s fine please could you get us two more lots of chips she was very stroppy about this I’m not sure what her problem was all she had to do was add two more to the order and go and get them which is what she did in the end but she made us all feel very unwelcome and because of that we would never return customer service is key to us no matter how much or how little a meal costs manners cost nothing. We all had steak and the steak was good on par with a miller and Carter but slightly more expensive. When compared with Empire just up the road the Bank failed miserably I think they need to send some of their staff there for a meal to get some tips on how things should be done. So if your looking for steak go to Empire it’s the best steak I have ever had and cheaper than the bank plus you get second to none...

They've been totally unattantive and made some mistakes: ordered coke zero (which was on the tab) but it was regular coke forgot to put the food for our three year old toddler in the tab, every partner know what struggle it means if everyone gets served but the child ordered a well done burger (don't judge, it's super hot here ;)), received a medium rare burger
Now to the most important part: the food They, I quote, "promise an authentic American steakhouse taste that you won't find anywhere else". I've been to many US steakhouses (check my other reviews) but this is nothing like that. That's not even my point but the taste was just less than mediocre.
They have smoked brisket and smoked St. Louis rubs (or as they spell it St. Luis). In my opinion it's not smoked, maybe sous vide in advanced, then reheat with BBQ sauce. There was no pink smoke ring, no juice, no tuck and it was actually overdone in a weird way (I think it was overcooked through the sous vide and while reheating with too much heat it lost all it's moisture and dried out) because it was fall off the bone (which is considered overcooked within us BBQ) and dry at the same time.
The brisket was more like sous vide pastrami. Also no sign that it has been smoked in a smoker. They sliced it so thin (machine I guess) it must have been taken from the fridge and been reheated. No bark, no moist, no smoke, no tuck, no you name it... I could go on but I'll stop now because no BBQ enthusiasts will read this anyway. If you're not expecting authentic us BBQ style I guess you won't notice anyway. Also no USDA prime steaks expect a US wagyu (if you're allowed to call it that).
I'm sorry to say but in my opinion (all of this is just my opinion) that is not...
