Title: Great Food, But Service Needs Improvement - A Review of Khong-Tsha
My friends and I decided to give Khong-Tsha a try on a busy evening as walk-ins. The restaurant promptly seated us, though we were placed right next to the shop front, which was a bit distracting and made us feel a little forgotten at times. The table was also only half set, and it wasn't until our starters arrived that we finally received the rest of the cutlery.
After settling in, we ordered drinks, but it took quite a while for the waiter to come and take our food order. While we understood that the place was bustling, the service was undeniably slow and left something to be desired.
On the bright side, the food was a delightful surprise. The chicken and sweetcorn soup we ordered for the kids was outstanding, and the chicken skewers with satay sauce were equally delicious.
However, once we finished our starters, the mains were brought out promptly but curiously, the plates from the starters were left uncleared. When we decided to order a second round of drinks, we had to request that the plates be removed. This oversight was a minor inconvenience that affected the overall dining experience.
The standout dish of the night was the crispy beef with chili sauce – it was simply excellent! The rice served alongside it was tasty, but for those planning to share dishes, I would recommend ordering extra rice, as the portions might be a bit small for communal dining.
Despite the fantastic flavors of the dishes we tried, the subpar service did cast a shadow over the evening. We understand that everyone has off days, and it's possible that the restaurant was simply understaffed or going through a rough patch. However, it's crucial for any dining establishment to maintain consistent service levels to ensure a positive experience for all customers.
Khong-Tsha offers fantastic Chinese cuisine, with their chicken and sweetcorn soup and crispy beef being particularly noteworthy.
Yet, the slow and forgetful service left us feeling a bit disappointed. Reading previous reviews this may have been a one...
Read moreOur drinks order and food order was taken promptly, by I assume the manager, and the drink order brought to our table by another server. We ordered a starter dish for two which also came out quite quickly. I would say the starter was okay but it didn't delight the taste buds.
I can only say this place is very unorganised. Looking around people were waiting to pay, tables were not cleared of dirty plates and orders were not coming out, and yet the Manager kept letting people into the restaurant.
We waited nearly an hour for our mains, still no one cleared our table. We decided we would wait no longer so paid for our starters and drinks and left.
I can't blame the three servers on duty, we could see they were embarrassed. The blame comes from management who kept letting more customers in when they could not cope and give good service to customers already sitting down to eat.
We come to Tenerife often, but will not return to...
