Loft del Born — Restaurant in Barcelona

Awful place. A bad trap for tourists. The service is the worst and the food is no good. I went with some friends a Sunday afternoon to have some drinks and eat something chill. We ask the waiter if we can sit in a table where two people were just standing up (we were 4) he tells us in a very bad manner and no sympathy at all that only if we had 2 tapas per person. Stupid rule very bad for you business btw. We sit down and the other waitress was having a very bad day as well. Really rude. They made us feel very uncomfortable. Then they brought the food and it was very bad. No taste at all. Bravas were not well cooked and with too much oil.

I have to say that only one waiter was nice (the one bringing the food). Unfortunately I didn’t ask names. But anyways one of three is a very bad ratio.

In terms of poor service, lack of courtesy, and bad attitude, this was the only place I experienced all of the above on my trip to Barcelona with my family. Yesterday we waited outside the meet and greet area for some time with no interaction or acknowledgement from anyone, when we finally decided to walk in to speak to someone, the waitress inside instantly started gesturing to us frantically and shouting at us no, no, no. I asked what she meant and she rudely said "no tables, no tables", highly unprofessional. However 50 metres up the road we discovered Morelia which was the absolute opposite with a brilliant waitress and fantastic food. Not in a million years will I return to...

Five stars for food based on the Menu del Dia. For the first course, my partner had the croquettes and had the salad with tuna, which was delicious. Fresh crisp greens, tuna, and a light dressing. Second course, my partner had the fish, and I had the egg, potato, and chorizo, both of which were delicious. The menu del dia includes a drink (bebida) of wine or beer and coffee. Review at 4 stars because service seemed uncoordinated - several different members of staff interacted with us, and some items were slow to arrive, but we were in no rush, so they were really just small concerns.
