Waiter didn’t clear the table from the people before for ages, and when he did, we then had to chase him 3 times to wipe the table as it was still mucky, we sat at a dirty table about half an hour before it was sorted. Food came and was verging on horrible, was so hungry so ate the avo and toast but left the goats cheese as it tasted stale, the eggs were so undercooked which is off-putting, just flopped it all off to the side, and we were never bought the sauce we asked for. Milkshake and juices were nice and good coffee. Asked for some glasses for water and he brought over a broken one, in isolation wouldn’t have been an issue but it just felt like the cherry on top of a bad run and if I’m honest he had a bad attitude, we were made to feel like we were super demanding but I feel like we were asking for basics, wiping the table, asking if we could order multiple times, etc. There were only 3 other tables occupied so they weren’t busy.

Primavera Colorida was what I ordered and it did not disappoint! The sourdough bread had the right amount of bite such that each mouthful was effortless. As for the hummus and avocado, they were wonderfully smooth and added a rich texture to the toast. The tomatoes were also nicely seared and added a refreshing burst of flavour. As for the falafel, they were warm, yummy and added further depth to the dish with its fried outer layer. Giving a 4/5 for food as I wouldn’t say that the whole dish blew my mind but the toast was prepared well and provided for a satisfying meal. The restaurant could do with some music as there was none, leaving some awkward silence in the restaurant coupled with the occasional clanking of cutlery from the kitchen.

The Toast Maker – Barcelona We came here for breakfast just as the place opened, and it turned out to be such a pleasant surprise. I ordered the toast benedict with smoked salmon on sourdough instead of the usual English muffin — and it was simply excellent. The dish was beautifully served on a cozy blue plate that made the colors of the food pop. The potatoes were full of flavor, the egg perfectly poached with a silky, runny yolk, and the salmon — possibly Norwegian — was delicious. The café itself was spotless and nicely designed, with a calm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. A wonderful breakfast spot with a great selection — absolutely worth recommending!
